Oh man, yeah.

Forgot to feed her for weeks after Fallout 3 came out.

The smell down there was unbearable.
You're enjoyable. You're an enjoyable addition to this forum. I approve.

OP: I don't have a partner.

I wouldn't even neglect a friend just because of a game. It could be the best damn game in the world and if someone wanted me to stop playing i'd be off it asap.

Never neglected a partner after a big game release...but my ex-wife did an astounding job of neglecting me when Burning Crusade came out. Then again when Lich King did. I hope for the sake of whoever she's with now that he's a WoW player or else she'll dump him for Cataclysm.

It is mostly thanks to her that I won't date a girl who plays WoW.

My girlfriend and I have an arrangement, and it all works out quite well. I only rarely hear gentle sobbing from the kitchen over the sounds of zombies being mangled and turning up the volume solves that problem.

But seriously, my other half tends to be pretty accepting of my inability to prise myself away from a game I'm really into. A few times she's even made an effort to play it too, which is nice in an "Aw, bless her poor lonely neglected heart" kinda way. In exchange for her understanding and patience I make an effort to ensure I don't put gaming ahead of anything significant, such as plans for an evening out or lunch with our respective parents, etc.

I try not to bring up video games around my partner because the topic alone is enough to make her livid. I'd never put her out just to play some Xbox, though. She has attempted to get into them in fairness to her though, with Tekken being the only game she'll really play because her button-mashing ass beats me every time.

We play games together so it doesn't really matter. Although it does take a bit of a toll on me... not having sex due to all of your girlfriend's free time being taken up by Fable 2 and 3 for THREE MONTHS... is a tad taxing.

I've yet to have a girlfriend (mostly because everyone in my town seems to have already hooked up) but I expect that we can at least find some mutual ground when it comes to games. Whether it be that we both play or that she would at least accept that playing games is a huge part of me becoming a game designer. I've heard of other couples who watch one another play games and I can't think of anything wrong with that.

Oh man, I know that feeling. Even though I played WoW as well, she'd go off and raid with her Chinese guildies, I couldn't cuz I can't speak Chinese, so I was left alone for 7 hours each night while she was trying to down bosses.

I was replaced by a game - stupid WoW. He would call me and try to talk and then start playing and I just set the phone down and started watching Invader Zim. It was sad, because if he hadn't been a jerk, I love games and love to play them. To be fair, I got back at him with Fallout 3, when I was absorbed, and later left 4 dead, because I was playing on harder difficulties and would sneak off to play with people who are GOOD at the game (he's quite bad at L4D). Partially all this on purpose - it hurts a girl's feelings to lay around in lingerie and get ignored.

I got neglected by my boyfriend when WotLK came out, but was quite happy about it because I had major exams at the time, so I could study in peace because he was happily playing his new game

How do they react to being replaced by a game?
By pressing the off button, she has a cold heart and waits for no man to save his game.

An old fling and I parted ways after Monster Hunter Tri came out. Yes, this means I chose a game over girl. I know what you're thinking and all I have to say in defense is that it wasn't working out in the first place and that it was so worth it.

Thats cool! I managed to get mine playing Splosion Man on the 360 and that wasn't easy. Although it did backfire, I'm starting to think she like Splosion Man more than my little man!
To be fair, he can "'Splode" three times in a row.

My ex loved playing games or watching me play games. She wasn't an avid gamer, but she likes stories and cut scenes. So it worked out well.

Except the lying, the cheating, and that stuff. But the gaming worked out.

I have never allowed a game to impact my duties to anyone. I really despise those few who give gamers a bad name when they addicted to Farmville and feed their kids dog food.
Hey! That was once! And they weren't MY kids, they were still technically under the care of the orphanage!

I will return with a detailed explanation of her reaction to me shouting "Arhhhhhhhhh SPLODE!"

No, never, I don't even touch my videogame when my girlfriend is around. But when she is not around then is zombie killing time...

No. Most "AAA" releases still do not get much interest from me.
I do however flat out tell them in advance that when the new Dresden Files book gets released that they are to fuck off for 2 days.
I have never had any complaints.
It takes you 2 days to read the Dresden files books? Are you sleeping when you could be reading them? Silly man.

Hm. AAA release and girlfriend have yet to coincide. Although I have flat out told her once or twice that I can't talk because I'm playing Blops...
