Does anyone play Oblivion?

I've played Oblivion for so long now it's been retired to the Godshrine on top of my CD rack with Half Life 1&2, Grim Fandango and Max Payne. I'll probably never play it again.

I started playing Oblivion again recently (of course with a lot of mods) and in my opinion its better than Fallout 3. I find i can get far more immersed in Oblivion and the story for the main campaign is like...reading a good book that you can't put down. And some of the mods out now are brilliant, I have over 100 installed which seems pretty standard.

But does anyone still play Oblivion and if so are you a mod fan?

It is better thAN f3. It's the best game ever. But, i ain't plaing anymore. That's not to say i own't ever. I am trading in all of my working games, apart from Oblivion.

It didn't think it was as good as Morrowind, although Oblivion did have a functional combat system.

Ah, see, i never played Morrowind. I know someone who did though and he says it sucks compared ot Oblivion.

I think it all boils down to which one you played first.

That works for me since i prefer Oblivion to Fallout3, but i think my friend played Morrowind first, and didn't think it was very good.

Then again, the best thing about oblivion is "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM"

I hated Oblivion. I'm sure I would have liked it more if I had spent several more hours leveling up spells to the "not shit" point and finding an enjoyable part of the game, but I just couldn't get into it.

So no, I don't play it. I am liking FO3 though.

You do need to "get into it", it requires you to spend a good bit of time and it easily can suck you in from there.

I totally agree, Oblivion is one of the most epic games I've ever played. And as far as modding goes I'm fairly new to PC gaming but so far I've got about 6 or 7 gigs of mods. The one I would recommend most is Ancient Towers. It has everything you would ever need including a very neat place to organize your weapons and armour. Yeah, I still play it. Have 300 hours + on it.

It's harder to love on the 360 version, as the levelling system is a real pain in the ass. But it's still fantastic. (wishes for gaming PC someday)

Fallout 3 still pips it for me though. Love it even more.
