Crash Team Racing was the best racing game I've ever played... ever. POLAR FTW!

Do I remember Crash? I remember Crash. I remember living in a one bedroom guest house with my parents and my brother. And me and him would argue over who got to play the PS1 now. I remember playing through levels 4 or 5 times. I would know where every enemy was and where every fruit was hidden. I think I was obssessed. I memorized every line of dialogue, and even sewed a little crash head onto a hat.

Then Crash Team Racing came out. And there was much rejoicing, by both us and our parents. Finally we could play at the same time. We would sit down and play for hours, running through every track 2 or 3 times. I can recall many times going into the final lap with all the CPU drivers a lap behind, and us pushing each other. Both in the game and in real life. Fighting to reach the finish so we could laugh in the others face, even though we'd go right back to another race.

Yeah, I remember Crash.
This, except I wasn't awesome enough to make the hat.

EDIT: OMG I just had a nostalgia trip! I remember when I tried to teach my dad how to play Crash Bandicoot 2, and, on the first level, he went out of the hub and lost 50 lives that my brother had painstakingly collected because he was trying to bodyslam an armadillo. I never laughed harder :D

I've played all 3 of em. They are great. The first one is rather tough/ challenging in comparison to the other two. If you consider variety in gameplay...the third one stands out with all kinds of different rides.

Oh Naughty Dog...where did it go wrong? After Crash Team Racing? (Also an addictive game)

Terrible question: But which one was Wrath of Cortex. It was technically my brothers but I loved it =D

Even if he did blame me for breaking the game when he got the bad ending.

lol it was the 1st one on playstation 2 and wasn't developed by naughty dog,
It was made by Traveller's Tales, if I remember, and probably the last good Crash game they ever made. After that point, the franchise went downhill.

Awwww loved it, I only got to play on the Playstation every now and then because we didn't have one and I borrowed a friend's console but as a kid with knowledge of only Snes and Gameboy, Crash was eye opening.

Aye I remember them, in fact I had such a cry of nostalgia I bought the first three games just a week ago for my PS3 and I love them so. Have they aged as well as Super Mario 64 or Kolona, nay, but still much fun to be had while riding a boar or bouncing off boxes before Nitro shoots you with a laser.

Sure I have Prototype to finish, Valkyria Chronicles with new missions I just downloaded, Virtua On! to conqure, and Little King's Story coming up, but for Crash I'll make time to beat each of the original and it shall be worth it.

As for anything after Crash 3, well I ignore them. After the third game, it's straight to Jak's series.

Do I remember it? Yes I do. Did I like them? I'm afraid not, I despised Bandicoot, Rayman, Spyro, Gex, and just about every platformer on the playstation, I really did.

Not sure if they could stand up to games today though, perhaps not.
Ugh I remember gex, that game was horrible. I never played spyro or rayman but I remember bandicoot being alright. It was no mario64 but it was still decent.
Maybe after Mario 64 I was spoiled. I despised those titles, and only really played a handful of platformers at the time. It was weird, I never questioned my tastes as a child but in retrospect my choices in what I hated and what I liked was a bit unpredictable.
Please, please say you mean the lame original, and not Deep Cover Gecko, because Deep Cover Gecko is one of my favourite games of all time :(

I played through Crash 3 only a few weeks ago. I can also remember the long nights spent playing Crash Team Racing and Crash Bash with my friends playing untill morning. Usually we quit at that point because when my parents went to work they weren't too pleased that when they went to sleep we were playing and when they woke up, we were still playing.

Yes, I do remember the countless hours of fun with those entertaining games. I remember playing through the first two when I was a kid. I still own Crash Team Racing (I used to be a beast on that one) and Crash Bash. Oh, the days that were spent playing those games with friends, happy times. Haven't played them in years...maybe I should try again, thank you for reminding me. Now I might have a reason to dust of my old playstation.
