no, there is no chance. I quit WoW a while back and dont regret it, but WoW has a weird type of hold on people. There have been so many other mmos that have tried to overthrow WoW, but it has never worked. Age of Conan, Warhammer, Guild Wars, etc. none are as popular as the 11million (I think)user strong World of Warcraft.

Probably not, the reason why world of warcraft was so succesfull was because of the timing.
It hit a sweet spot, and lots of mmo's have tried to copy it, overcrowding the market and thus failing.

This, WoWs like heroin, all any other developer else can seem to make is very weak marijuana. WoW has no serious competition, never has, at probably won't for a very long time (unless they drastically cut the development). And there's almost definitely going to be more expansion packs, so what ever gimmick is helping Aions success will certainly be added, reworked and improved.

Aion's a very pretty game, with some interesting ideas.

That said, it has absolutely no chance whatsoever. It might make a dent in WoW's market share over in Korea, but certainly not in the west.

World of Warcraft will never be killed, it will die slowly like Everquest did and eventually a new MMO will come along at the right time and put it out of its misery. I don't see it happening for a while though.

I'm one of those weirdos who don't like a lot of mainstream games, so I got bored of WoW pretty fast. Aion looks good, and I will probably buy it, but WoW has been around for way to long to be brought down by it.

Hah. No. WoW won't be killed by any game in the near future. I daresay it'll suffer old age before getting shiv'd by a rival MMO.

Hmm WoW versus Porn.

Who wins?
Hey, for some people, WoW IS porn!
What people are so desperate to see jiggling boobies that they will wait until a night elf does that bounce thing and watch their tier 8.5 epic gear jiggle up and down?

There'll be people still playing WoW on their hyper-advanced Quantum-computers, come on.

Aion? No, the only people babbling about Aion are those who were genuinely interested it for what it is and the disgruntled WoW section that has existed since release. What will happen is Aion will come out, both groups will sign up, the people who actually like it will have fun but the community will be horribly inflated by disgruntled WoW players who will most likely mainly leave after a month or two.

SWTOR however, almost certainly won't kill WoW, but might actually give it some competition.

It's WoW, nothing will surpass it, because there's always going to be twelve to seventeen year olds who want to play it every day.

In my experience, I can safely reply to this with two words: Hardware requirements.
Most everyone can play WoW, but Aion looks like its pretty taxing.
