Yes, I know. Is there even such a thing as a mobile gaming community?

If yes, then is there a portion of them who debate (or squabble, if are a pessimist) the quality of certain mobile games, or perhaps discuss some balance or strategy for a certain mobile game?

Ok what about an "elitist" subsection?

Just we collectively look down on mobile gaming are there some mobile gamers who also adopt the same view towards more traditional gaming?

EDIT:

Now that I think about it.

The question I really want to ask is "Will the mobile gaming community become more and more like traditional gaming in the future?"

I hope so and not the other way around.

Yes me, I'm a mobile gaming fanboy who used to love console gaming but I can see what its turning into. The mobile game industry, to me is far less evil than the console industry, yes we have free to play on android and apple that attempts to nickel and dime the players, but you know what? it doesn't cost $60 upfront and then have the 'nickel and diming console games are doing now. ITS STILL FREE, if you have ppatience and are willing to grind (remember in the old NES and SNES games when you grinded to get power ups? how is this any different???)

I play mobile game because they are, you know, fun! you know what games should be, they offer in some instances hundreds of hours of entertainment for free, Candy Crush is a great game despite what the AAA console snobs say. I love criminal case on Facebook hundreds of hours of entertainment for free, yes it tries to get your money, but its very easy to resist unless your a gullible fool.

So yeah, I love mobile gaming and I'm not ashamed of it, at least most of them feel like an actual game not a 10 hour interactive movie which is what most AAA games are today.

Andriod, Apple master race for life! while you spend $80 on your next game (game plus seasonpass) ill be enjoying the amazingly addictive 8ball pool, soccer stars, dead trigger and shadowgun which offer hours and hours of free entertainment!

Keep bending over console and pc gamers! :)

i have a sneaking suspicion that you're just a mobile game hater that is trying to give mobile gamers a bad name.

Well any way i for one think that most if not all mobile gamers have the foresight to know which games nickle and dime you and which games don't.

The closest thing to "hardcore" that the mobile industry has is "whales," the people that drop hundreds of dollars on the microtransactions. Jim Sterling had an episode on it, but these people exist and they're scary.

As far as a "community," there's no such thing yet. It's currently way too easy to buy votes and ratings in android and iphon marketplaces. When all the freemium shit out there is ranked 4-5 stars you can't really be expecting any kind of conclave of minds.

I think the post was referring to games for phones rather than portable game consoles.

I second this notion. There are so many games out there disguised strategy games or trading card games but are really just a series of loading bars with pretty pictures, and even the "competitive" aspect is laughable because you "fight" when they're not there, and the combat boils down to who has bigger numbers. There's no "skill" involved only the amount resources (whether it be time or money) you're willing to invest.
