Does the TF2 Medic have any relation to the Nazi Party?

In honor of my obsession with TF2 and the current update I decided to create numerous though provoking (hopefully) TF2 threads.
-------

NOTE: Guy please I KNOW I am overthinking it. I've never thought of tf2 this way until I had this random thought. So please please stop telling me I'm over thinking it and either discuss the topic or ignore this thead. Thanks guys.

In my honest opinion? No the Medic has no relation to the Nazi Party.

The only evidence to support that claim would be

1) He is German
2) The game takes place post WWII so survivors of the Nazi Party could still be around
3) He used dangerous experimental medical techniques (such as which were supported in Nazi Germany at the time)

But the evidence against it is

1) Obviously not all Germans during WWII were Nazi's
2) Since the game takes place in the 60's and we can assume the Medic is in his thirties he would be too young to be really involved in the Nazi party
3) I don't think Valve would do something that contreversial
4) The Medic is friends/co-workers with Americans, Russians, French, and other allied powers

So here is my theory (I know it is a strech):

The Medic was a German Jew who escaped Germany during the uprising of the Third Reich and hid in Russia. He was a child at the time, and this could explain his "tight-knit" relationship with the Heavy.

EDIT: Just read he was raised in Germany, he could have left around the age of 15 though.

Now before anyone is like "who cares it is just a game" or "dude did you write fanfiction lol" (I did not), just please humor me and discuss.

Thank you!

Im pretty sure they were just going for the crazy German doctor stereotype. You are looking way to much in to it.

Kinda Off-topic, but what is TF2? I've seen a few threads about it but don't know what it is

Edit : Cheers, Team Fortress 2, got it.
Yes i know Google exists and I was aware of this game i just got confused by the face that people kept refering to "classes" in the game as characters with back stories and such and thought TF2 was possibly another game/comic/film i hadn't heard of.

Word of God is that he has no connection. If anything, he reminds me more of a Doctor Frankenstein parody.

Goddamn it I was hoping this thread would just die...

Valve would never be that stupid. Never, never, never, ever, ever. He's a mad doctor, nothing more, nothing less.

How is that cultural rock you are living under? Lol

Jokes aside, it's a great game that just went free. You should check it out if you have Steam. You have literally nothing to lose.

And no...I don't think he has anything to do with the Nazi Party. You are just reading too much into it.

Yes, and knowing Valve they did this precisely for comical effect. All the TF2 characters are hilariously over-exaggerated stereotypes. You may as well ask if the Heavy was in the Russian Marines.

Yeah, pretty much this. While the "mad German doctor/scientist" stereotype has sometimes overlapped with the Nazis in the past, I don't really think that's what Valve were aiming for.

I think it's just for giggles, but the Nazis certainly helped in creating the crazy German doctor stereotype. That or maybe Valve was going for a more Dr. Frankenstein type character.

Or i could ask people who know what it is? But i guess google would have less dickish replies. And more breasts.

Only the best free co-operative team based shooter on the PC :)

Edit: OP - Nope, The Medic is more Doctor Frankenstein than Adolf.

Not to offend here, but how is this thread thought provoking?

It's obvious that he's not part of the Nazi party. As others have already mentioned, he's just a mad scientist stereotype.

Is their really a need to be so harsh? I'm not sure of you've seen many of the trending threads but I don't see why this one out of all those has to die honestly.

I just had a thought that I wanted to discuss. What's wrong with a little imagination?

Not thought provoking as in complex or intelligent. More along the lines of promoting imagination fueled discussion.

You guys are being a little too harsh.

Please read the op. Please. I admit I'm over thinking it and tell you just to humor me.

He's got a sort of Mengele vibe going, but no. Just being German and being crazy does not a Nazi make. He shows no evidence of holding to any of their ideologies (at least, I don't think so; I could be wrong).

Yeah...he is totally a Nazi. Or, at least, WAS a Nazi. I get the feeling his loyalties lie with his science rather than any particular politcal affiliation. All of the characters were supposed to be 1940s/50s stereotypes, and what more popular German stereotype is there of the era than the Mad Nazi Scientist?
