After reading the do you talk to your pet thread some people mentioned that they tell their pets to do tricks, so I was wondering What pet do you have? Does it do any tricks? What tricks are they?

My pet is a cat so rarely does tricks but when I make a kissy face to it , it kisses me back .

My cat craps outside, but thats really about it, and thats not really a trick.

But one of my pet newts, Big Boss, can jump fairly high.

Does jumping off of a tree trunk, grabbing a squirrel off of a branch, and then ripping said squirrel to itty-bitty little shreds count as a trick?

My dog can sit, lay down, speak, and annoy the living hell out of me.

Oh, and my cat kills things. Does murder count as a trick?

It COULD be a trick; have you ever tried making your cat jump through a ring of fire while he craps outside?

My cat walks up to people, sits on their shoe, farts, walks away and gives them a dirty look as if to say "you're disgusting"...

i didn't teach him to do it but it's hillarious

My dog knows exactly how to get your attention, I might classify it as a trick. When you stop petting him, he looks at you with the most longing eyes a 15 year old dog can make. If that doesn't do it, he puts his paw on your leg, forcing you to either pet him, or look like a total douche. Tricky son of a *****.

Cat's tend to rub their heads up against objects when they want attention. Usually, that object is a person's leg.

It isn't really a trick, but my cat prefers to rub her head against a meat skewer. I guess the trick is that she manages not to stab her eye out with it.

My pet has never really been the trick type. Unless you count 'float' as a trick...

My cat doesn't get the concept of a scratching post.. He's not jumping through a ring of fire any time soon.

My cat tries do trick us at home.

When we're having dinenr he goes and stand next to the door, so we think he wants to go outside, and even though he can open the doro himself someone usually get up from their chair to let him out.
then when they're at the door he runs over and jumps up on whoever got ups chair, and tried to grab stuff from the plate.

other than taht he doesn't do any tricks, unless the 16 hour nap counts as a trick.

Does sleeping through half of the day count as a trick?

God I wish I was a cat.

(My joke about lazy cats has been ninja'd. WHAT ARE THE FUCKING ODDS?)

You can teach cats to do tricks, you just have to start them on it as kittens. I found a bunch of strays once and took them in before they were too wild to catch. We trained three out of five of them to fetch those little fuzzy mouse toys they sell for cats, one of them got so good at it he could catch them in midair which pissed my mom off in the end because when we let them go outside he was really good at catching the birds off the feeders.

Over time those cats got eaten by coyotes and run over by cars but the cat I have now plays fetch and when he feels like it and we give him vitamin pills with brewer's yeast and we make him stand up on his hind legs for those and sometimes we can get him to walk a few steps that way.

I have a fat old cat that pretty much does nothing at all and needs letting out, even though he has a cat door. Sometimes I can get him to stand on his hind legs if I hold up a comb, so I guess that's something.

My dog has a trick called "postman" where she runs headfirst into the door every time you shout postman. It used to be hilarious but now I just think it's a bit sad that she still falls for it. She also does "smile".

My cat's trained me to open the door for her. Not sure if that counts.

My previous cat learned how to open most of the doors in the house. Since they're mostly handles, she figured out that doors would open if she jumped, wrapped her forearms around the handle, and used her own weight to turn the things.
