DOGMEAT !

This is a cry for help ..

i was playing Fallout 3 , i found dogmeat , told him to look for ammo and ya i was nice to him and everything but i didn't want him to come with me yet (i cared about him ) so i sent him to the vault then after about 10 min (REALTIME) i fast travel to the vault he is not thier so i wait a full day but still i can't find him (only a raider) i look inside the vault and all around the area he is not thier now im panicking over DOGMEAT because i can't find him

so please help!!!

sets the suicidal quadruped to essential (meaning he just goes unconscious instead of dies)

He's probably stuck back in the map you told him to leave. Sometimes they don't leave properly. Other times, you need to come back to Vault 101 even later. Don't wait at the vault, wait somewhere further away - if you wait at the vault, it might prevent things (like Dogmeat) from spawning nearby.

Similar sort of problem here, although with me it's more my own carelessness. I've forgotten where I left him....

I got him and then came across a behemoth and couldn't get close enough to tell him to heel. So he died in 5 minutes.
It made me sad.

Load the game and in future always quick travel as soon as you ditch someone. Although there was one time where I rested while accompanied by dog meat but when I woke up he inexplicably died.

Moral of the story, Fallout 3 is buggy.

There's a junkyard near the center of the map. You'll find Dogmeat fighting stuff there. I only found him the other day myself.

I think it takes a few days for him to get to 101, i sent him back once and after about 2-3 days he was there waiting.

Aaah Dogmeat. I ran up to him in the scrapyard all excited, hit E and he started attacking me. Weird thing is he spawns at the vault (sometimes IN the ground*), and he won't respond to my prompts. I've ended up playing the game without him.

Oddly enough, I can pickpocket him. And the console command doesn't work.

Glad that worked. It's a good thing to try in other games, too: if something doesn't reset when you're waiting nearby, trying waiting elsewhere.
