Persona 3 FES, I would grind Junpei up the levels needed then forget to save, twice. I did it a third time and made sure I saved

When my 360 developed the annoying habit of randomly turning itself off, I tried to Ironman it through Bioshock, got to about 10 minutes before Atlus before it shuts down. I didn't rage quit though, I was determined to finish the game that night, so I motherfucking finished it that night, just saved every 5 feet this time.

the entire part between shadow temple and the end of the game in Zelda OoT...
Are you telling me you never once paused the game and went to the menu during that bit? I call bullshit on that because you must have to change your equipment!

Or that the game lets you continue from that very room. The same call for BS goes to 'veterans' of Metal Gear Solid anything. The end says 'Continue' or 'Exit' for a reason, duckies.

No sympathy for not hitting Continue.
I finished the game and then realized that I hadn't saved and btw I just pressed start again instead of saving... so I guess I'm lowered from Unlucky guy to Idiot.

Because I REALLY hate games that tell me how many times I saved, because then it makes me look rather noobish.
Makes you look rather noobish to who? I've never had a friend come over and say "Hah, look at your game with 100 saves! You should turn autosave off so you can regret it later, you noob!"

Anyway, I went through an entire planet in KotOR without saving once, only to die to the Krayt Dragon because I didn't talk to the guy outside the cave and thought I could kick its arse. My last autosave was when I stepped out of the port for the first time.

And then when I finally got there again, I couldn't figure out what to do with the Bantha Fodder so I looked it up, and found a page where they constantly refer to the player as Revan, which ruined the entire game.

I quicksave around every corner, after every little victory...

I manual save most of the time because I'm used to it, but maybe a couple levels in wolf3D a long time ago or something...

:/

I honestly don't get screwed by this much, I get more screwed by console save game data becoming "corrupted" all of a sudden and having to do shit again. :/

On oblivion i lost about 10 hours because i forgot to manual save my game before starting a new one, and on AC:Nexus Revolution i thought it had the prompt to save on quit, and after doing every mission and getting almost all A rank modding out my AC and Being awesome i got no prompt and it just quit.

Half Life.

I bought a used copy on Amazon for 8 bucks...didn't think anything of it at the time until I started playing it and it froze on a loading screen...after I had only been using quick saves for about three hours...

No wonder they were selling it so cheap :\

Most recently, I remember in Lost Odyssey. I completed the Eastern Tribal Ruins, including the boss.

I immediately went to Numara. I didnt save in between, and if anyone has played this, they will know that the first time you return to Numara, you need to fight 5 Boss Battles. 4 are alll within a time limit, and each requires some preparation.

Needless to say, I was pretty damn pissed off at the game for only remembering the last checkpoint as the save before the Eastern Tribal Ruins boss battle...

Fallout 3 fucked up on me one time. Thing is, I don't mind it that much if the game is good. I think to myself, "Okay, that sucks but hey, I'll just lay through it again and try things a bit different."

It's much worse to me to be animating for several hours and forgetting to save the work. You want to see me pissed off, talk to me after one of those incidents. :p

i have one story, it's not exactly about forgetting to save..i was playing gran turismo 4 on my ps2, and I was at about 65% of the game completed..and believe me, for that game, it's alot. The autosave icon was incredibly small and almost hidden..so one time after completing a race i turned off the console..while it was saving..guess what happened

Boy did I fall for that one. And you'd think there was an auto-save feature in place when they kept Loading/Saving with every new area you went in but nope, that sure proved me wrong. =/

Well it is not that I didn't save. I had a power outage while I was playing MGS4 and when I loaded it up again I started back a few levels. It pissed me off a lot cause like I said I did save, and saving for MGS4 sometimes takes a little bit of time, so I wasted that time for nothing.

I've stopped playing Oblivion after my last encounter with its save system.

I had 2 games, 1 where I was a female Dark Elf and 1 where I was a male Breton. I ended up liking the Breton and playing the whole main quest and a little bit of shivering isles, but I wanted to play as a Dark Elf a little more before completely erasing it.

Then, just as I enter the Imperial City, I see that its Auto saving. Just then, I remember that I hadn't manually saved on my Breton character for a while and just as I expected, this auto save as a Dark Elf completely erased 100+ hours as a Breton.

What the fucking mother fuck?

I lost a few hours in chrono trigger, and so stopped playing. I have been regretting it ever since, but I can't get myself to pick it up again.

My Pokemon: Gold save had taken me years of careful compilation and strengthening. I had Pokemon still that I had traded from my Blue version when I was eight. I was on top of the world, with 4 Mewtwos, each of the starters from Blue, Gold, and the legendary birds from Blue and Gold. Everything was level 100. I went to turn my game on one day, only to find that the save file was gone. I have never played a serious game of Pokemon since, except for Red, but even then I quit once I was able to hack level using the traditional MissingNo glitch.

Well my story is a little different. I didn't lose all my data because I forgot to save, but rather because I did save.

So back when I was playing Gold version I wandered into a pitch black cave. I was stupid, so I kept walking around inside. When I tried to head back, I found that I was trapped and could not find my way out. Because I saved in the cave, I had no way of getting back outside. Had to delete my data.

And this wasn't like the first dark cave in the game. It was much later in the game, so I had to get rid of a large amount of progress.
