Don't get me wrong, I like minecraft

Look, I like minecraft as much as the next guy. I sit around and plan what I want to build thing I want to find and make mental maps when not playing. All of that, but some time the escapist seems a little to in love with it. It seems like there is at least one new story a day about minecraft, a minecraft rip off, something someone has done in minecraft. And I mean news stories. I don't care about forum posts, we can carry on as much as we want, but all the news on the front page seems a little much.

And you want it to be exclusively MLP threads then? Threads, I may add, that are rarely started by fans of the series.

It'll die down and these forums will fixate on something else. Like the next COD or something.

I don't like Minecraft but I think some of these updates are pretty neat, besides what else are you expecting on a gaming website?
Really isn't a whole lot going on and someone building a computer (as an example) was just a fun sized little news snippet.

You dont have to read them y'know, most of the time its pretty obviously minecraft related when its a minecraft story. So you could just avoid it.

I can't really say for sure anyway because I only read the news with titles that seem interesting. I'm only around for the forums these days.

For example right now there are 2 news stories about minecraft up on the main page. One out the computer built in it, which I admit is kinda neat and kinda lame all at once. And another about a free demo of minecraft. Also since Monday they have had a story about fortresscraft where minecraft is heavily referenced and a story about the update that came out yesterday.

It is just weird to me that minecraft gets so much publicity from the escapist.

Not my point. I am not saying I have to read them and some how got conned into it. More of my point that the escapist features that game more than any other besides maybe portal 2

I suppose, but the escapist content seems to be run more by what the staff actually like, and everyone at the escapist seems to love minecraft, so of course its gonna feature heavily.
Although its not like they show any actual bias to it, if theres something new, interesting and generally worthy of telling people about it, they're going to post it whether its minecraft related or not... i dont think they've ever not posted a news article about say... call of duty, cos it would push down views of minecraft articles.. if thats even possibly something that would happen.
Anyway minecraft is good for filling up a slow news day

No that would be like having ice-cream for dinner. It sounds good on paper, but then you get fat and diabetic. Portal minecraft will make you fat and diabetic. Also I have been playing enough minecraft to know the cake isn't a lie, but to much goddamn work.
