To quote the article you posted: "My first reaction was semi-outrage that anyone should be allowed to tamper with this incredible series," he(Colfer) said. I'm afraid he should have listened to his own first reaction. Trying to take over a book series started by another writer seldom works. Especially when the writer was a comic genius with a very unique sense of humor like Adams was. I don't think anyone can write a book that will really fit into his bizzare, twisted universe.

I won't be buying the book, but I don't exactly begrudge its existence either. I loved the first three books, moderately enjoyed the fourth, and probably forced myself to like the fifth at the time I read it, so the series is pretty much dead to me regardless. I wasn't even interested when I heard shortly before Adams' death that he was getting ready to write a 6th book in the series.
