...you read on the "latest thread" or "hot thread" boards and see that there is a thread that you find interesting, it has a few replies not to much nor to little to put you off from making a comment yourself. You realize that this is the sort of thread you've been waiting for a thread you didn't have the time or didn't bother making yourself, you read through the comments all good no need to report anyone. You reach the end and you're able to comment yourself, you put a lot of thought into it and in the end your sorta proud of the little master-peace and post it.

You see while you've been busy writing up your thoughts on the matter that others took the liberty to do the same, still you posted and you go off and few minutes later after watching ZP or PM friends or something you decide for few good reasons to check on the thread you commented on earlier and what do you see... instead of seeing a page or more of comments you see that the thread dies on your comment! You feel depressed "did my comment kill the thread" you say. You feel guilty and angry that your comment was the last and a lot of work went into it and it kills the thread!

I hate when that happens but you could never tell if it was you or your being paranoid or something hmmm....

...Chances are, it wasn't you. If your post does kill the topic then it would most likely generate MORE people to post and comment on your post. Either agreeing or disagreeing. Trust me, controversy attracts people on this site. You can deny it all you want, but a hate thread about Halo is gonna generate more replies then a well thought out thread about space or something.

Eh.... no, doesn't happen to me. And I think you are being paranoid if you think your comment has the power to make other people stop posting.

I never thought of that. That happened to me before, but I never thought of that.
Why would someone do that? Have you not posted on a thread because of the last post.

I've had it happen a few times, but I just forget about it pretty fast, and don't really care about it much.

I've got about 5 "last posts" atm (want to bet this will make 6? :O)

And no, I think I'm just picking topics without a great deal of leg room to comment on rather than me being a serial post-killer. Check page views: If high but low comments then thread isn't perceived as requiring a reply for whatever reason. If low, then since no one is so much as looking at it, why would they be commenting?

We're going boldly where no one dares to tread... Totally not killing off innocent threads lol

Happens to me a fair bit. In fact, it might happen right now. Either way, I don't care too much. If I notice, I feel a little bad for the person who started the thread, especially if it's a really good one that deserves, I don't know, 1k views or something.

This exact thing didn't happen to me, but something similar always happens:
I make a thread and it dies out with one of my replies. I guess that's even sadder...
