Doom 3 CD key issue.

I just purchased the Doom 3 pack off of the steam store. When I went to launch Doom 3 it said I needed a CD key. I looked for help on Steam support and it said to launch The expansion pack once. I did that...now it is asking me for a CD key for BOTH. It said people who buy DOOM 3 via steam will never get a CD key. So what the bollocks do I do?

The only legal way I can think of is contacting steam, but since you already tried that, I have no help.

I checked the website, I haven't telephoned or E-mailed them yet but I am going to do that next.

Please if somebody has had this problem before it seems rare, just does anyone know a way to solve it that is legal?
