I really did love this game, its pure genius. You start off as a nameless space marine, that is just shipped off to Mars city, and as soon as you get there all hell breaks loose, seriously. Some of the marine killed during the opening of the hell portal, rise again as a zombie, or as I call them "Oh shit, hes got a gun!", fairly easy to kill, but still can get you killed. Not to much later you'll meet our good friend the "imp" a series original and 2nd place favourite to many Doom fans, right next to the hellknight, and cyberknight. The uses an amazing lighting system which makes have to use a small flashlight that takes up your weapon space. A good example of the flashlight use is when you have to fight the spider guys (can't remember their names) it can be used as a melee weapon, in which they'll try to swarm you and you beat them over the head several times, but it doesn't do much help, you'll wanna get your pistol out and start shooting. The only problem is that you can't see anything, you'll have to start shooting wildly to get a tiny bit of light from your gun's shot, but back to the things I like about the game, it also happens to use the "calm before the storm" moments, you'll be using a computer, to get information on anything it could be a door code, personal file, or even a mission objective, and suddenly RAWR! a pinky (Large kinda hairless bulldog with mechanial legs comes around the corner and is gnawing on your face. Your gonna freak out during this, because its so calm, and now your running, or crazily fighting off the beast. You don't really want to end up Pinky's dinner do you? No, you don't, but you got him an appetizier full of Shotgun coming his way. Also even when its not demons just the envirnoment will get to you. Now I think I didn't like was the fact that you might not get all of the story unless you either understand everything, or read the book. Being me, I went for the book. I just finished the first book "World on Fire", and I'm buying the second book sooner or later.
I know my first review didn't really help anything, and I hope alot of you were sarcastic on your comments except for Vrex360, Mikecolter, JRCB, and Anachronism I apprecite your critism. Thanks. (For once I'm not being sarcastic.)
