Doom 3 Xbox co-op query

I've been looking into this and found conflicting evidence. I know that the standard Xbox version of Doom 3 has a co-op mode that requires either Xbox Live or a system link with another Xbox. This isn't helpful for me. However, some say that the Limited Collector's Edition of the game has a local co-op mode that utilises a split-screen, which is precisely what I'm hoping for.

I know that the Ultimate Doom and Doom II games included in the Collector's Edition are co-op, but can someone please confirm at last whether Doom 3's story can be co-oped with one copy of the Limited Collector's Edition and one Xbox?

A friend and I have been trying to nail this down to no avail.

I get the feeling that this rumour is a "Use Strength on the Truck to Find Mew" rumour.
It may be true, but it just sounds like one of those to me.

I agree, especially since there's no reason (other than wanting more money, of course) why they'd make the Limited Edition split-screen co-op and not the other one.

I don't think the rumour's true, really, but I'd really like it to be.
