I wish I was born 10 years earlier, in Austin Texas. Those were the computer gaming pionieering years. It must have been awesome experiencing that time when graphics went from stick-figures to real 3D.
Carmack was not only there, he was the one constantly pushing the limits of what anyone thought possible. For me, experiencing the demon-slaying masterpiece that was Doom was as awe-inspiring as a moon landing.
Definitively a price well deserved.
