Yep, it does look much better, you could almost say from sleeping pill to adrenalin rush but i'm sure thats not fair even for the console version.
in addition i hope they will give us the option to turn the pc version into console version by plugging in a controller.

What? Fucking what? You know what that translates to, right? Soup is indeed typically eaten with a spoon. Not a fork, not a knife, but with a spoon. You're telling us playing FPS games with a controller is the usual, normal, proper method to enjoy a FPS.

If that's now what you were trying to say, just what exactly where you trying to say? Cause you buggered it up, mate

my friend, i mean we eat soup with different spoon. not typical steel spoon.
the thing is controller is better for fighting games, while KB/M is better for FPS. each peripheral is suitable for own respected genre. I personally cant stand playing FPS with controller. especially this type of old school fast paced.

Controllers are typically a bit harder to use in FPS, that tends to be the norm. Also, I see now, but that didn't come off at all in your post. Might wanna edit and clarify that. Also, stop calling me your friend. I am not your friend

Screw the specs, the guy playing the game actually looks like he runs faster than a geriatric master chef.

I already knew about the straight up raw power this card seems to have, even when not clocked it is impressive. Not to mention the low temperatures it appears to have, which is always welcome.

The thing that really struck me here is.. this is Vulkan! Not sure how it stacks up against DirectX or anything, but it's interesting that they chose this to show off their card with it, very promising.

Since I may have to upgrade soon to get the most out of VR, this card is mighty tempting by the looks of it. Will be interesting to see what reviewers has to say once they get some hands on time with it.

Why development was not given to MachineGames is beyond me.
Probably because the timeframe wouldn't work out. This version of Doom started being worked on in August, 2013 (as in, development was rebooted). TNO was released in 2014. It's not impossible, but it might have required Machine Games to work on more than one game at once. Plus, Machine Games would have yet to prove themselves, so to speak.

considering how awful wolf new order was im glad those talentless hacks didnot work on this.
Ah yes, those hacks. I totally agree, it's not as if they released a game that was released to positive reception across the board, said game belonging to a series whose last major release was among the lowest ranking in the series.

But hey, maybe I'm being too hasty. Maybe there's a reasonable explanation for why you don't like TNO, and-

atleast Doom is fast (on PC), has no iron sight, sprint system where you cant shoot while running, forced stealth etc
Well, so much for that idea.

Silly Elvis. Don't you know that REAL men drink soup straight from the bowl, holding it in their manly hands as it drips down their manly chins, to be cleaned up by pansies who would never hope to be as manly as they are? Only girly girls use a SPOON. ;P

B-Cell said:

...Or maybe I'm wrong about the 'manliness,' and there is indeed a world of difference between steel spoons and other spoons.

Or maybe not. I'm going with the latter.

Holy shit, that is ridiculously fast.
I'm startin' to regret pre-ordering it for the PS4 (I'm used to consoles, sue me) but I don't even know if I (or my PC) could handle that speed.
Probably would've gotten a handle on it sooner or later but still.

Dude, according to Nvidia, the 1080 is dramatically more powerful than a Titan X, dramatically more power efficient, and costs a lot less. What else do you want?
How about a fair comparison? TitanX was never meant for gaming to begin with. It should be comapred to 980, which costs the same. (although 1080 is more powerful and more energy efficient)

Supahewok said:
I think that speaks more to the hubris of the Titan X than anything else, if a high end card can beat the previous generation's super card within a year, year and a half.
Ignoring that Titan is a number cruncher and not a gaming card...
This is how hardware generation works you know. Newer cards tend to be more powerful than older ones. I think it would be much stranger if new one would be released and offered no improvement.

Weren't people also hyping the titain?
Only people that did not knew anything about graphic cards. The rest were hyping 980/980ti

Erm, eating soup with spoon is exactly how you do it. I think you meant fork.

The fact that they're not giving out many review codes, and also left Jim Sterling off the list because they're in "short supply" gives me a faint inkling that it might be a total stiff. Why development was not given to MachineGames is beyond me.
If I was at all interested in the game, this would definitely give me pause. Not handing out review codes says (to me anyway) they are hiding something that would cost them pre-order sales.

You what? XD The phrase is "like eating soup with a fork". No one says "like eating soup with a regular spoon instead of a soup spoon". What you mean is it doesn't work. Trying to use a fork to eat soup does not work, any spoon would work just fine. lol

Oh goodness, that gave me a good giggle. Thanks for that.

While very impressive, the performance of the GTX 1080 isn't much higher than what most people were expecting. The demo was set to 1080p and despite the name, a GTX 1080 will be overkill for that resolution unless you have a high refresh rate monitor. The real news is the use of Vulkan in a AAA game. Hopefully, it will become the new standard and mainstream PC gaming will no longer be held hostage by Microsoft.

Anyone care to give me some input on this? I have an HD Radeon 7800 myself and it's showing it's age so would have a suggestion for an upgrade that won't be outdated too soon and break the bank?(the bank being about $300 or so). I mean looking at this might be worth saving 2 months or so for it.

I'll probably keep my 780 for a long time. There's nothing that looks worth an upgrade at this point. Especially not that.
Agreed. I'm still maxing things out at 120 FPS with my 780. Once that stops happening then I'll upgrade, but until then I literally have no reason to get a new card.

AMD's new Polaris 10 (nobody knows what the actual name is yet) will probably be the perfect upgrade for $300. The GTX 1060 Ti is another possibility as it will most likely be priced at $300 or less.

I have pre-ordered the PS4 version myself. I'm almost positive it will play better on PC, especially because of the control scheme, but I can always snap up the PC version somewhere soon down the road. Right now, i'm just not feeling playing on my PC, I spend enough time sat at the keyboard as it is.
