A few thoughts...

1) That trailer was awful. It seemed to be trying to channel the classic Metroid Prime and Halo live-action commercials, but failed miserably. The music in particular was very annoying.

2) We all get that you're excited for the new Doom, but for fuck's sake B-cell....do you have to make a thread about it every single day?! All you're doing is spamming the forum with redundant threads and annoying other posters to the point of pissing some off. Just...slow it down a little, eh?

3) What were you expecting from the thread, anyway? What discussion value is there? One of the rules for starting a thread is to offer some topic for discussion. All you've done is embed a Youtube link and said, "This new trailer is 'badass'." There isn't much discussion value in that.

Really, after the literal dozens of threads you've posted here about how excited you are for Doom, and after all of the other threads you've posted about how almost every other shooter coming out this year looks "terrible", what sort of responses were you expecting here? You've seen what most of the other posters on this forum think. You've seen that many will jump into the thread just to inform you about how wrong you are for being excited, about how awful the game will be. Why continue to subject yourself to the same thing, over and over and over again? It seems almost masochistic.

Let's be real here. You're not going to change anyone's mind. Certainly not by posting Youtube videos and telling people the games they are excited for are awful or "casual".

And frankly, you shouldn't be trying to change their minds either. My suggestion? Start a user group and offer an open invitation to anyone interested in Doom.

Eh, the trailer was kind of generic. Didn't really hype me up. I'm curious if that section in the end with the huge open space will actually be in the game.

I think that was the fastest I've ever been bored of a trailer. Like I almost stopped watching ten seconds in. The idea of playing as a manly man killing hordes of X has failed to excite me as a gamer for quite some time. Hell, shooters in general have bored me for quite a while.

I'm all in for the new Doom game - It looks like a glorious return to the mobility shooter, a style that's been neglected for too long.

That being said, this trailer is kind of lame. Cinematic, so it doesn't say anything about the game. It's just an armored dude running down a hall way to some fairly generic music.

So... eh. Boring trailer. But I've seen enough other stuff from them to not be too thrown off by it. I'm just hoping they stick with Doomguy, instead of trying to making him an actual 'character.' Doom is best when its just a badass marine, in badass hell, and the game is just the natural result from that initial scenario.

Its going to be shit, DOOM doesn't need any cinematics it needs fast gameplay which it is sorely lacking.

No problem if the game have cinematics. I am open with new ideas. Trying to stay in the past for too long, it will be our DOOM forever.

Can't you just relax both of you. They are just Thread. I don't think he/she deserve "punishment" to share his/her love for a game. I posted countless Threads about Skullgirls in the past and I didn't heared the same amount of hate about posting them constantly.

Well, I suppose the trailer shows they remember what the enemies looked like. I hope the music in the actual game has no words, and is good. The music was a big part of doom, the music in the trailer sounded like it was kinda sorta a tiny bit maybe based on some from the original game...maybe.

I'm not hyped for the game...but I'm not unhyped either. Maybe it will be good, but I don't know. I mean, I -want- it to be good. Shadow Warrior was good, but it had a badass katana that was actually usable the entire game. My biggest worry I suppose is that they will focus too much on the wrong thing, or one thing. Duke Nukem Forever seems like all Gearbox knew was that Duke Nukem had sex jokes. Sure it did, but it had lots of other jokes, and references...and fun levels and gameplay. DOOM was fun cause the gameplay was good, the guns were good, the levels were good, the music was good.

Gonna have to echo the general sentiment here that it looked rather tame. Where's the balls-out ultra-violence? Demons getting ripped to gory shreds?

Which kind of makes me sad. This is Doom, the quintessential granddaddy of the fps, and I can't find any enthusiasm for it. The multiplayer seems kind of neat, but I could just play Quake Live and basically get the same thing.

Doom is my favourite game of all time. But this trailer, like the others, just doesn't sell Doom 4 for me. It seems like it's trying to look super badass and hardcore and intense without actually being those things.

It's like a death metal band trying to show off how technically they can play and how extreme their lyrics can be instead of writing some good songs.

Yeah, when I watched the trailer I thought I would be that one cynical voice in a sea of hype, but it seems everyone else has already done a good job of pissing on this pointless trailer already. What exactly am I supposed to take away from this trailer? Oh, game has guns and demons in it, I thought it would be a farming simulator. Why not show some actual gameplay in the trailer, rather than a bland, by the numbers pre-render of some generic looking space marine pointing his gun at stuff? You aren't making Mass Effect; people aren't hyped for the game because they care ever so much about ... what ever the real name "doom guy" is.

I guess it's just to remind you that the game exists, and contribute to the hype, and it's been rather successful at that. Despite the lukewarm reception it's received here, on the actual Youtube page it seems the viewers have wet every pair of pants they own just from looking at the title.

Despite the meh of this trailer, the game is freaking fantastic. Hopped on the beta, smooth as silk and plays like quake 3 with a modern touch. The multiplayer is fantastic and undoubtly the single player will be as well.
Also: doom marine inspired the bloody space Marines we have today, so step off.
