Ok, between reading on the Aquaman film and the spiderman musical, My Ire has been tweaked on an issue that has always been there.

Why is it that such obviously bad ideas are allowed to happen?

Im not talking about something that seemed alright and then when it was released turned out to be pure garbage, Im talking about painfully bad ideas that were just as bad if not worse than originally expected.

I genuinely have to hope there is some sort of justification when people do this, but I know that in all likelihood there is none

So, I ask, when did you call it. What did you see and know it was going to be horrible, and were proven right on its release, be it game, film, tv show, book, album by its utter failure?

Edit: CERAP! Accidentally put this into gaming discussion. My error, Sorry.

Because it's relatively easy to release stuff as long as money is promised in the end? There are enough people who are incredibly thick or don't care about what they do to make pretty much anything sell, therefore any idea that guarantees some profit gets published. Atleast, that's my understanding of it.

-this thread is in the wrong forum

but I'll bite:
The Event (NBC, 2010) -from the promos I said "alternate-reality stuff caused by US government experiment, like an fun filler episode of stargate minus the fun"
it was, and as such isn't on air anymore.

Knight Rider 2008 -I really like the mustang, but that show sucked.

Blur: wait, what? oh, cart racer but with real cars. too bad I don't see it working out, sort of an uncanny valley.

Because your opinions on quality (or what is good and what is bad) are in fact, opinions, not fact.

Your belief that something is a bad idea does not make it so. Plenty of people would have (did, still do) think that a Mormon romance novel about sparkly vampires was a horrible idea. Turns out they were wrong, I don't care how much you hate Twilight (I'm not a fan myself) its made a shitload of money and appealed to an extremely large audience.

Your right, we are all entitled to opinion, but I guess I failed to properly stress that it failed (not that it sucked). For an example the film Jonah Hex was budgeted at almost 50 million, but only made just over 10 million, and to look at it in advance before it was released you could pretty much tell it wasnt going to do well at all.
