Specifically, websites that have or are eventually going to succumb to the stupidity of it's community and become part of the void. 4chan goes without saying, you can use Myspace if you don't generalize, and that's it as so far as rules go.

Youtube, I think, will inevitably become overcrowded, as more and more pointless videos are added, and old ones are not removed.

I see warseer (a big warhammer forum) falling apart in the future. Too many people attracted to it who don't really know what their talking about, I have seen many flame wars start over stupid things. Stopped posting there myself a few years ago, but I still lurk there at times.

Gamefaqs has gotten a rather harsh community since it merged with gamespot. It probably wont fall down anytime soon, but I don't like posting there anymore.

I would think that eventually the site (youtube) would have a massive deletion of pointless videos based off of ratings.

None. People are stupid, they enjoy stupid stuff... Look at Gaiaonline, myspace, the youtube comments... Crawling with the kind of people that make me consider genocide a very necessary form of art.

Is it a forum for the Games Workshop IP in general or just the new MMO?

I tried going on the Bethesda forums once. That is a place that should have a nuclear bomb dropped on it. Apparently if I don't know the daily routines of everybody in oblivion ever I deserve to die. Who knew?

I think it is both.

It's for the Games Workshop miniatures games. There is some stuff on the MMO, but 99% of it is about the table top games

I have been on the Lionhead studios forums they are pretty decent.

I think your right about youtube (although I think they should allow videos with honors or most subscribed to remain).

I once complained about the karma system when dealing with ten penny tower quest for fallout 3. The response was a nonsensical speech on chaotic neutral and lawful evil from the DND system.

Its community is already dying of the stupid virus, and there are plenty of spam videos, trolls and I even saw a channel dedicated to saying "Hitler wasn't a bad guy really".

Charlie Oscar Delta was a doomed website to begin with. It was the official CoD4 forum. The problem was that it didn't have any moderators. They were very lax about all sorts of things like threads dedicated to pornography and a wall of threads dedicated to racist hate. Oh yes it had it's fair share of trolls. In fact 95% of the people that posted there are the sorts of people that would be frowned down upon here. Most threads consisted of "What is your favorite gun/perk/level/team" or "This gun is overpowered because of blah blah blah" (I remember there was an M16 is overpowered thread that reached around 80 pages, actually all the Over Powered threads seemed to be about that gun).

But there were also fun times. Like the Grass is overpowered thread. It started off as a mockery of all the overpowered threads but when people actually though the OP believed the grass was overpowered it turned into one hell of laugh. The overpowered grass has become a kind of inside joke for some of the CoD4 fans. There were also some great Trolls we had. You Escapists think you've seen Trolls? Bah! We had the worst of the Internet. For one week there was nothing but racist motivational pictures across the general discussion. A whole week he kept that up. It was very impressive. There were also many failed trolls, trolls that had rather revealing myspace pages. Boy did they cop it from that.

But that was the great thing about the community, it was self moderated. You never felt like it was out of control, there was always some sort of control underneath the mayhem.

Unfortunately IW realized what their website had become and closed it down only top open up another forum with rules and moderators. Bah! It was terrible. I never bothered to turn up to that place.

Ironically, it was from this enjoyable hell hole that I was linked to the Escapist. I've moved on from the Charlie Oscar Delta forum but I would have loved for it to still be the way it was so that every once in a while I could go back and see how the old girl is going. To meet old friends and maybe find some new. Yeah, that would've been great.

Wow, someone who doesn't know about warseer :D Thats pretty cool. To be honest, I don't think that warseer will go that way for a long time. Most of the smaller boards such as bolter and chainsword are so derogatory and condescending when it comes to a lot of things that they don't agree with, that warseer is still my place of choice along with bell of lost souls.

How is librarium online doing by the way? Last time I visited it was full of people being so nice to each other that I could swear everyone was on prozac. Not that I'm a troll or anything, but they were so nice it was sickening ;)

Most of the old UT communities that steadfastly remained loyal to the UT series after UT3 flopped so drastically - they are all either dead already or simply corpses who haven't realized it yet.
