It was originally going to be a one year contract. With an episode a fortnite, this would've been 26 episodes, which is why the badge was made saying '26 episodes'. This only started to go wrong when the Michaels had to start releasing more Behind the Scenes and Outtakes and Trailers etc. to fill space when they needed more time for the larger episodes (about episode 23 onwards). The Tech Team on The Escapist forgot to make those episodes not count, which was why the badge was released early in the first place. They noticed this error and stopped giving out the badge as a result, but let everyone who had earned the badge by then keep it.
Afterwards, they changed the number of episodes to 25 due to the fact that they were so far behind on schedule and someone forgot to update the badge.
So yeah, simple mistake in forgetting to change the badge description. Talk to the Tech Team [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/chat/Tech-Team] about it and they'll probably change the description accordingly.
