Sounds like you are just naturally independent, if you want an apartment on your own you will most likely have to get a job too. That is the one thing about that age that is so frustrating, either live cheaply surrounded by morons or live on your own but sacrifice more free time and school time. It just depends on what you would rather be doing.... unless of course you have someone to help you out.VanityGirl said:TO be honest, I missed living in a house, an apartment would be fine too.
I liked cooking my own meals. I liked being able to go in and out as I please. I dunoo.
Dorm life makes me sad.
Maybe you two are... the same person!!VanityGirl said:That SCARES me, that's how my roommate is... UGH.PaulyWalnuts said:God dammit, I hated the dorms. I lived with the biggest, stuck-up asshole to ever step foot in my life. He was incredibly wealthy, dumb as a rock, had a polo in every pastel color, and had a cologne collection bigger than most girl's shoe collections. Worst of all though was since all the stuff he brought was obviously better (tv, microwave, couch, dvd player, etc.) he passive-aggressively let me know that it was his room, and I was just living there. SO glad to be out of there and living with my friends.
Then what is the point of going at all? Man I love Australia and its 18year old drinking age.VanityGirl said:No one at this school goes and gets drunk. Plus I'm in a Sophomore dorm, meaning most girls are 19-20 year olds
My wife did her first year at OSU in a dorm, and she was depressed the whole time. It was a nightmare, her roommate was a messy unclean ***** and the dorms were ratty and they cost a small fortune to live there. She got an apartment the year after and said it was the best thing ever.VanityGirl said:TO be honest, I missed living in a house, an apartment would be fine too.

it's fun if you have a decent roommate. either i was lucky or just willing to get along with people but most of my roommates were fine. later on, people may love you just because you aren't the roommate from hell they had to deal with last year.VanityGirl said:Hey guys and gals.
I used to live in a rented house with my brother and his wife to be Satan- I mean, his fiance. I just recently moved schools and am now living in a dorm. I must say... Dorm life blows ass.
Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but the lack of fun to be had is well... depressing.
My internet flickers on and off on a regular basis. I can't play PSN or XBL because my internet will flick off and kick me out of a game of Socom or Gears.
I also dislike the whole "roommate" aspect. My roommate is erm.. stuck up and spoiled, big time. It's annoyin because when I do try to play my 360 or PS3, she complains that I should be goin out and meeting people, or she'll be studying and then I'll just seem like an asshole.
Is there a good side to dorm life?
