Hey guys and gals.

I used to live in a rented house with my brother and his wife to be Satan- I mean, his fiance. I just recently moved schools and am now living in a dorm. I must say... Dorm life blows ass.
Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but the lack of fun to be had is well... depressing.

My internet flickers on and off on a regular basis. I can't play PSN or XBL because my internet will flick off and kick me out of a game of Socom or Gears.

I also dislike the whole "roommate" aspect. My roommate is erm.. stuck up and spoiled, big time. It's annoyin because when I do try to play my 360 or PS3, she complains that I should be goin out and meeting people, or she'll be studying and then I'll just seem like an asshole.

Is there a good side to dorm life?
yeah, because if your dorm has a residential network, you can find other people with 360s and PS3s and play system link games with them. used to be we would get 4v4 left 4 dead games and 8v8 halo 3 games going after only fifteen minutes or so of calling people up

so yeah, you do need to meet people. that way, you can game with them!

If you are underage and can't buy booze, you will be in close proximity to those who aren't and can.
This. I'm currently living the dorm life, and I think it really depends on the dorm. I'm in one of the nicer dorms on campus, and the people in it are pretty cool (with the exception of one really fucking annoying guy). A lot depends on the roommate, too. The one I have right now is pretty cool, but the one I had last year was a super druggie who would constantly sleep in until 5 in the AFTERNOON.

So yeah, it really does depend on a lot of things. There are good sides, but the number of good sides can easily be decreased by SOOOO many things.

Not really, I'm currently living in a dorm, it's not very big but it works, my internet doesn't do what yours does it just is ocassionally really slow because of all the people on the server, it does get really loud though. Last night someone was screeching like a banshee literally, you can't make this shit up. As far as your roommate goes, punch her in the face, that'll learn her.

No one at this school goes and gets drunk. Plus I'm in a Sophomore dorm, meaning most girls are 19-20 year olds
Then what is the point of going at all? Man I love Australia and its 18year old drinking age.

You could join a sorority. Greek life tends to lend itself to more enjoyable college experience.
