DOTA Question: Broodmother

Hey DOTA guys, who know what's up. Quick question for you.

I was solo laning as Broodmother last night, and one of the two guys I was laning against, Otherworld or Outworld Destroyer or whatever his name is...he could see me. Didn't really seem to matter what point of the game we were at, he'd just immediately start wailing on me whenever I was in range, invisible or not. The Ogre Magi could not, or at the very least did nothing if he could. I kept checking the Outworld guy to see if he was carrying some "spot invisible" item, or if any of his abilities said anything about spot invisible, and nada.

Any idea why this was? Is there some way to seagull an invisible unit I'm unaware of? Kind of hard to be an effective Broodmother when the guys you're fighting against can see you.

Ah...most likely it was a ward then, eh? Since I couldn't see any dust in his inventory.

Enemy wards are invisible, yes?

Bah! I wonder why Ogre Magi couldn't see me if it was a ward. Maybe he was just lazy.

That'd be my guess. If it bothers you too much you can always just watch the replay. Then you'll know for sure

Sentry Wards, most likely. I know I buy sentries ASAP when I'm laning against a Brood. She gets really weak when visible (not accounting for individual player skill or level advantages/disadvantages), much moreso it seems than other invisibility heroes like Riki or Bounty Hunter. Can't say I really like Brood much.

This just demonstrates further the importance of warding, though. Can be an absolute game changer.

Well, I watched the replay. It was wards.

Amusingly it was the Ogre Magi who dropped them, and not the Outworld fellow. Ogre Magi dropped the wards and then proceeded to ignore the giant spider rampaging around.
