A couple of days ago, I just so happened to wake up to CNBC, which I had left on from the night before. There was a big discussion about the rise in private equity and government regulation of the industry. Doug Lowenstein, previously the head of the ESA [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/66994-ESAs-Doug-Lowenstein-Stepping-Down], is now representing the private equity industry in its fight against government regulation (sound familiar?) as President of the Private Equity Council.
It was nice to see that Lowenstein is doing well and is pursuing familiar, yet fresh and most likely higher paying, work.
