DoW 2 : Retribution is a tease

Was just playing the co-op singleplayer with my brother just there on very hard... space marines... last mission... half way through my sound bugs out. tabs me out and give me an error message and do i want to report this to microsoft?

My answer : NO I WANNA FINISH THIS MISSION AHHHHHHHHH

Now, for those who have played. i was controlling 3 of the 4 you can play... and i was the ranged support and did a damn good job at it.

so.. we continued on strollin slowly through the mission and i get tabbed out again being bombarded with the same error... i ignore it... continue...

we spend maybe 10 minutes fighting Kyras oh Very Hard difficulty i will remind you.

We beat him. I Orbital bombard him... my brother loads almost instantly into the cutscene.. YAY

im still loading... my brother gets an error saying that i've disconnected... i turn around to the horror that my game has crashed... so no achieve for doing most the damn work... i r sadface...

SO its just a tease to have to ruin it. we worked hard too.


Now just to wait for Portal 2 co-op... heh...

You think that's bad?
At least you can even play DoW2.
Mine worked absolutely fine. Then Steam updates stopped it from working properly.
Yeah, thanks, whoever made those killer updates. Whether I install from the CD, or download from Steam, it always automatically downloads the updates. Which kills it.
I even chose "Do not download updates" on Steam, yet it still always downloads...
*Goes to break some skulls*
At least that hasn't happened with other games. Yet.

I had a kinda similar problem with Chaos Rising, but nowhere near as bad. I finished the campaign and halfway during the credits the game just randomly crashes. Still got the achievements but it was just really weird.

Then again my computer is a piece of shit when it comes to gaming so it could just be that. Could be that for you too, maybe?

Not really Chupathingy. its quite alright at playing even modern games. a tad bit slow. but still. well above some people.

Either way. ill just pester him to play it again with me ( he hosted the co-op so i need him to host it to play )

I dont even like Dawn of War 2. Bring back Dawn of War 1, with resources and base building. Not this only get to use a few units crap.

The reason why i prefer the second game is because it actually requires you to be conservative with your squads. and losing them is a big no no. losing a single unit is bad enough as it is as you need to spend a fair ammount of resources to get that lost unit back.

Unlike the first game when you had ( talkin bout singleplayer here ) i loved my Avitus. yes 3x autocannons while having terminator armor on. I THINK YES! or when just without terminator armor hes a total beast. even tearin up tanks. but it just wasnt the same because if you lost a unit in dow 1 you could just reinforce the unit on the spot.

There was no real skill involved and micromanaging.. pfft. no need. just send everything in and blow stuff up amiright?
