I recently went to the Download festival in Donington, England and I saw a dude with a "pants on head retarded" shirt near the main stage. I'm wondering if this man with brilliant musical taste's on the forums.
To stop this thread becoming a thread with no discussion I'm interested on the forum people and what you think of festivals. What do you go too and how do you like it?

Well this was my second time going but I've been going to gigs since I was 2 (hippy parents rule). I didn't see a single band that was bad. Slash, Rage Against The Machine, Killswitch Engage, Steel Panther and the food... Oh my god, we found a veggie/vegan stall and the food was like an orgasm for your mouth. Vegan mayo is strangely nice.

i'd like to go to a festival, just for the reason that i would like to see all my favourite bands onstage in the same place.

Yesterday I was saying to my brother how I am definitely going to a metal festival like Wacken when I finish school and University if I end up going to one.

Hey, I saw that guy too! Stood out a bit, from the main black/red metal theme...

AC/DC were just epic, and my personal highlight, but the rest was bloody brilliant too, especially Slash.

As long as no-one mentions 5FDP as a highlight we're fine. :3

Some good bands played this year but Sonisphere is gonna be waaaaay better.

Went to Sonisphere last year, it was awesome, and I'm heading to Bloodstock this year. Should be epic.

Australia has GREAT music festivals. I went to Big Day Out in January this year, probably our biggest festival. This year had:

MUSE, POWDERFINGER, LILY ALLEN, ESKIMO JOE, GROOVE ARMADA, GRINSPOON, THE MARS VOLTA, LADYHAWKE, DIZZEE RASCAL, KARNIVOOL, PEACHES, THE TEMPER TRAP, KASABIAN, MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS, RISE AGAINST, MAGIC DIRT, MASTODON, LISA MITCHELL, THE HORRORS, BLUEJUICE, CALVIN HARRIS, KISSCHASY, THE DECEMBERISTS, TAME IMPALA, GIRL TALK, JET, SASHA, DEVENDRA BANHART, PASSION PIT, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO, SILENT DISCO, HILLTOP HOODS, DECODER RING, ITCH-E AND SCRATCH-E, MAYA JUPITER, MIAMI HORROR, MDX, SUGAR ARMY, SAM LA MORE, THE SCARE, FEAR FACTORY.

Sorry bout the caps. I copy-pasted from the site. But yeah. Great stuff.

Ironically, I can't make Sonisphere, because I'm actually going to Rammstein...

This was the first year I went to Download, and it was insane! I expected it to be good, but not that good. Me, my best friend and Greg from The Dillinger Escape Plan all sang the end to Farewell Mona Lisa, the last song of their set, while he had his fucking arm around us both, and then at the end he said thanks to me.. I was so close to crying from happiness.

..Don't judge me!
