Download problems

Right so about an hour ago I started downloading Mass Effect on steam. Its downloaded 1,285 MB out of 10,169. I've planned my day around playing Mass Effect, and I was wondering if the fine folks of the escapist might know any tricks about how to get things to download faster.

Don't have a lot of things that use the internet active (Don't download multiple things at once), or get a faster internet.

Also, don't know how true this is but its worth a try.
Click the Steam dropdown menu on the top right of the scream
Go to settings and click
Click on Downloads+cloud which is like the 5th tab over
Go to download speed and click cable/fiber
This will make it so your download isnt capped by steam but instead by your internet speed.
