Will be interesting to see how 4E translates to a computer game. They'll have to take liberties i'm sure, but at least it should lead to a relativly balanced game.

I'm glad its 4E and looking forward to it now :)

Daggerdale is part of the Realms. It's part of the Dalelands. And I am such a nerd, I recognized the flaming skeleton as a Blazebones, and that thing at the end with spikes looks like an Earth Elemental.
Hah glad it's not just me, Scott that's no stone Golem. Tsk. ;)

4E rules will work in a video game, because they have things like "Balance" and "Good Design" which are required when you're trying to make a good game using game play alone.

Unfortunate indeed if it's based on the 4E rules. Though admittedly, that particular ruleset does lend itself fairly well to a digital port.

Pathfinder soooo kicks the shit out of D&D for tabletop play though.

"Balance" is the antithesis of everything but PvP. Classes aren't supposed to be "balanced." They were, in fact, designed to be inherently UNbalanced.

Looks great, I hope it's not as hard to get into as DDO, Neverwinter and games like it.

What ruleset do you expect them to base it off? The most recent of course. Either way, 3/3.5 wasn't a very balanced system so if this is a pure combat game it'd be silly basing it on 3.5.
If you're only rocking 4 classes, each with a defined role (Tank, Melee DPS, Ranged DPS, Heal/Support) then you really don't need them to all be 'balanced'. At all. Hell, the only reason WoW PvE needs balance is so that people don't class stack in raids and leave other classes out. For a small game like this looks to be, balance really doesn't sound like it should even be thought of as an issue.

Probably won't even feel like DnD, I mean, did Baldurs Gate feel like you were playing 2nd Edition or just a Forgotten Realms video game?
It felt like I was playing 2nd transliterated into a video game. The difference between video games and tabletop RPGs are inherent and are highly unlikely to be overcome in the foreseeable future simply by virtue of their respective natures.

Expecting a video game to 'feel' like a DnD game is silly.

I'm pretty interested, but I don't think my friends will buy this, which takes the co-op out for me.
