Personally I thought Doom 4 was a fantastic game but with a few flaws in the game

Campaign- I don't know I personally thought it was too short, I felt more satisfied with Wolfenstein TNO and Shadow Warriors Campaign than Doom and I thought how they placed the bosses were a little weirdly placed.

Snap Map- Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have a 2 weapon limit.

Combat Shotgun- Pretty much useless after you get the super shotgun.

I thought the campaign length was spot on, replay value is there also with different Difficulties or trying Speedrun.
Not sure about SnapMap but thats not my cup of tea anyways. MP is flawed i heard so not touching it.
I'm not trying to downplay the flaws of the game, i wish there weren't as much Arena fights imo.

Lenght was spot on for me. My main issue with the game was the pacing at the end (Still 100x times better than Serious Sam's 3 pacing).
I won't mind to see some expansion packs later on.

Snap Map - I've been using a lot of normal map editors/engines (Unity, UE,CE,HammerEditor etc.) and while Snap Map is easy to understand, it's clunky and annoying. They should release full blown Map Editor on PC, just like they did with RAGE (tho bit too late).
If there really is 2 weapon limit, than it's a even bigger joke.

Both shotguns are fun to use. I've spent most of the game using the explosive alt fire :p.

I still ended up using the regular shotgun more than the super shotgun after both were available. The explosive alt-fire is too good to pass up.

Combat shotgun useless? Not at all! The super shotgun may outrank it in terms of raw power but that explosive shot (especially once fully upgraded) is super effective, heck I find myself sometimes switching from the super shotgun to it just to fire off a quick shot into a far away group of enemies before jumping in with the super shotty again to take out any remaining stragglers.

My biggest issue with the game is the music. It just gave me a headache. I ended up using a metal cover of DooM and DooM 2's soundtracks.

I also dislike how the game sometimes locks doors behind you. I missed out on a few secrets that way.

My last complaint would have to be about the weapons. I feel like the combat shotty should have a bit more range/tighter spread. That'd give it a different role to the super shotgun. The plasma rifle didn't feel powerful to me, though it did a lot of damage. Lastly, I think the pistol should've had a late-game upgrade to make it more viable. Maybe dual-wielding two of them, firing alternate power shots.

It is a very fun game though. I'm planning on playing it through on a higher difficulty as well. I already look forward to the expansions and the inevitable sequel.

It was a good game, better than I expected. However it fell short in a few aspects that were pretty key to me.
1 - Too many monster arenas(Walk in, doors close. Kill all demons. Doors open. This isn't pain killer.
2 - Not enough wandering/hand placed monsters. This ties into the above.
3 - Not enough sprawling areas with many monsters sniping at you while you are trying to do things.
4 - Not enough resource management. It is way too easy to stay full on health/ammo.
5 - Too easy, even on harder difficulties.
The difficulty thing mostly feels that the Doom marine is just way too mobile. The vertical aspect means that monsters are never going to trap you. All of them are too slow and not even close to dangerous enough. Many of them are actually way less dangerous than their original counterparts.

Also Snapmap is cool but has a lot of really annoying and really weird restrictions. Only 12 active Demons at once? Go to hell.

Campaign complaints: Secret-finder compass pulse upgrade is fucking useless. 7/10 times it only flashes when you're already heading to the secret, and only makes a slight noise when you're already on top of it. It doesn't even work for hidden switches and levers that you need to open paths to secrets. Fucking junk.

-Recharge time on equipment is stupid. Makes those grenade boxes useless, and really you only use one type of equipment item and will never switch to another because they all go on cooldown simultaneously.

-Assault rifle and chaingun use the same ammo type. Chaingun is almost always better, making assault rifle without infinite missiles mod junk.

-Hardly ever got to use plasma rifle because shotguns are just too much fun, surprisingly. (Doom 3 shotgun was hot garbage and I hated it.) People that don't like plasma rifle are just haters. The damage is there if you're not a shit shot.

Snapmap: Still haven't tried it. Dreading it tbh, but this is all that's stopping me from 100% achievements at the moment.

Multiplayer: LOL. no. Got my achievement and got out.

Besides all that, the game is fun and has a good length. I have no complaints about the story.

I thought the combat shotgun was very good. The grenade mod is nice, and the triple-shot mod is not to be discounted because it adds ranged power and huge burst damage. Using the charged burst and then switching to the super shotgun to finish is an easy way to make any hellknight or revenant your *****.

I'll give you another game breaker for Doom; charged plasma shot + super shotgun = quickly dead enemy. Once I got the mods for the plasma rifle, it made most of the game a walk in the park.
