Why are people not liking this game? Did they pull a ME 2 on it and actually make it good? I disliked ME for most of the game, but loved 2. I hated DA:O and stopped playing after three hours. Perhaps I will like this game.

Kind of. They changed the combat to make it more user friendly (less micromanagement). The character has a voice and talked during conversations.EcksTeaSea said:Why are people not liking this game? Agreed. I like more action to my games then story. I found ME 2 had the perfect balance of that for me. ME 1 was just way too much story heavy in the beginning till things started going down in the end. So is most of the hate coming to DA 2 because the story was dumbed down in favor of more combat like in ME? Don't really get that all. First game in the series(RPG wise at least) is supposed to set up the story and be more story heavy and then since the ball finally starts rolling after enough story and background has been given, more action is needed to cater to that hence more action in sequels. Last part isn't directed to you at all, just my musings.adrian_exec said:EcksTeaSea said:Why are people not liking this game? Did they pull a ME 2 on it and actually make it good? That's most likely because you don't like traditional RPG games. Cause ME2 has been said to be more of a shooter and DA2 is mostly a hack'n'slash game.
GAAAAHHHHHHHHH! They don't look right with the new animations.adrian_exec said:There are many good and bad things that I can say about Dragon Age 2, but what I hate the most is how they managed to butcher one of my favorite characters from Origins, which of couse makes a comeback.
And namely Sandal, not only that he looks like a freaking zombie in Dragon Age 2, they even managed to destroy he's lovable line.
Check it out yourselves, it's horrendous now.
ps: have a little patience with the first video, it will load eventually or try to skip ahead a bit.

Seriously? Shit, I hope my red-hair/green eyed Hawke complete with righteous beard doesn't make his family look like a bunch of circus freaks...Onyx Oblivion said:As a console player, one of the few things I dislike is how we don't get the auto-attack toggle. I hit attack A LOT as a rogue. A LOT.
And the stupid achievement for not having anyone fall in battle for a year in Kirkwall. Damnit. I'll probably have to leave Hard soon if I want to get that.
I also especially dislike the way your family's appearance is dynamic, depending on your Hawke's appearance. I made 10 Ser Hawkes before I could get my mother and sister to not have hideous hairstyles.
I died a little inside when I watched those.darthmason0719 said:NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT SANDALadrian_exec said:There are many good and bad things that I can say about Dragon Age 2, but what I hate the most is how they managed to butcher one of my favorite characters from Origins, which of couse makes a comeback.

Same here. I do a lot of my gaming on PC, but the majority on console. Thats both for financial reasons, and I do like controllers.Mcoffey said:This. The people I know who primarily game on consoles aren't stupid or turned off by complexity, but they are perceived that way by developers for some reason. They then "streamline" the games, sometimes making the game way worse, and the people who were fans of the previous game become frustrated and direct their anger at the people they believe this new game was catered to.Saelune said:One thing I reeeeally hate...is the stereotype. I am a console gamer. I like controllers and the set up of consoles, but at heart I am more akin to a PC player. So it offends me to be viewed as a meat head who just wants simplicity and action just because I dont like a big keyboard as my controller. Bad enough PC elitists looking down on me, but the devs too, thats just crap.
