So this might be a bit much to make a whole topic for, and it may possibly be discussed elsewhere, but when I threw it into the search it just had way to many irrelevant hits to narrow down...

Im looking at hiring Dragon Age 2 for a few days from my local video store (Yes, we still do that in Australia, deal with it, I know elsewhere you have better systems) Im not super eager to put money down on this title until I can see how it plays, but my concern here is content.

I have a copy of Dead Space 2, including a code for a DS2 themed armour for use in DA2. Its activated on my account, but Im concerned EA will pull the 'Online access code' rubbish and lock me out from having me dlc, because Im using a rental copy.

Im not prepared to buy an online pass since if I enjoy the game, I will purchase a new copy. But Im also not eager to leave my content locked and play on, because. Well, its mine, I want it.

So any Xbox360 users confirm for me if this game has been branded with the horrible EA online access code?

Thanks in advance!

Why not just wait? Play the game, and if you like it buy the full game and use your codes. I mean, no point in using all that just to play for a few days, and honestly the armor wouldn't add so much to your game experience that you could not wait for it.

I'm pretty sure it'll just register to your account, not your game.
Not sure about that, though, so don't quote me on it.

For clarification, if I buy the game later, it will be more on principle then anything else.

I rent titles, then buy the ones that I particularly enjoyed. This isnt always impacted by whether or not I finished the game or not. And since Im a shiftworker, I will probably finish the game in the time I rent it.

And all that aside, its nice to know what you're getting, rather then be dissapointed upon putting the disc in.

It does have a code, but the code is only to access the black emporium, and some other thing such as the mabari warhound. I don't believe it'll stop you from getting any other items that are on your EA account. That said, even if it does, you won't miss anything. I've got Issac's armour unlocked and I've never used it once, there's always better armour around to use. The game is still perfectly playable without the code.

Don't use your codes unless you have a bought copy.

The code is a linked code. Unlocking things within two games from one code. I used it on a game I have.

Giving yourself a few days just isn't enough time.
Also, I would advise getting DA2 on PC if anything.
