I live in Florida, and it's usually pretty hot here. When I go to theme parks in the summer, often girls wear skimpy tops or even bikini tops. And you bet often the more endowed ladies do indeed flaunt their goods. Just like guys in good shape do.

I don't have a problem with big knockers, quite the opposite to be honest. However, if there is no exaggeration and if almost all the female characters do then I'd label it an immersion breaker.

I agree that the sexualization of female(and male) characeters in video games is overdone but gosh darn, I don't care so much when there is an interesting story, good gameplay, and said characters have actual personality. Okay, I'm bias, I really can't wait to play this game. I loved the first one and so far I like what I've seem of this one, huge tits aside.

Oh and don't say huge tits aren't natural. Not the norm, okay, not your preference, sure why not, but come on, I am a natural D cup, almost DD, not overwieght, athletic etc. It happens.

To be fair, if your Persuasion is high enough, you can do this in Origins too. At least they are being consistent.

Yep, she is the duelist. You can use persuasion to skip the card game and "Go back to her cabin to get to know her better." You can also invite a hardened Leliana and Zevran for a foursome and hilarious dialogue afterwords. But yeah, it is pretty bad how she immediately hits on you regardless of gender and your character just smiles back suggestively. Maybe my character doesn't want to encourage her advances, Bioware. Sheesh. I'm not some kid trying to score.

I got my female Warden and a hardened Alistair into a threesome with her.
I find it rather apropos that Alistair has to be 'hardened' to join in...

You know, having her as a romance is a bad idea. Most people had sex with her in Origins. You meet her in DA2 before your DA1 character has sex with her. I find it hard to have a romance with someone when I know that later she will have a rockin' foursome with a guy much more awesome than Hawke.

Bethany (your sister) has a bit of "inflation" during the very beginning when you play as uber Hawke, part of Varric's exagerated story telling methods, she has a smaller size during the actual game.

The female character models are actually reduced from how they were in Origins, I think Isabela keeps the original model.
Plus, her outfit seems designed to highlight her "assets".

DA2 is being told through the perspective of a sarcastic dwarf rouge. Of course he's going to exaggerate certain features.

I haven't played the demo, but I could see how Bioware would have done it intentionally because it was being told by the Dwarf, as people have said.

Something I think is similar was done in Mass Effect 2. There is an Asari Matriach barkeeper on Ilium who's father was a Krogan so she is a little rough looking compared to most other Asari. If you buy a drink from her bar (mystery drink) Shepard will chug it and suddenly she looks more attractive. It's not significant, but it's noticeable. Check it out.

The thing I enjoyed about the movie was it appears Bioware no longer makes you sluggishly swing your 2hander about like it weighs 300lbs.

I've just played the demo for the second game in order to get myself familiar with all the changes and all I could notice was that there were giant tits everywhere.

Now I'm not averse to large breasts, but to have them in every single scene and on every single female character is a bit much. Even Flemmeth now has a sturdy DD going and Isabella is 25% of Isabella is her boobs alone. It's to the point where it's just distracting.

I don't know why but I expected a bit more class from BioWare.

they did it because people complained about the lack of differences between the character models based on gender. i approve.

Is it really that difficult to view a demo as a cross section? That nice little 45 minute jaunt into the DA2 world is supposed to give you a taste of what the game has to offer. Up until that point you were fleeing the darkspawn, any missions you had were directly related to the main plot. Isabella brought in side quests, and branching progression options. (Find relic/Forget CrimeBosswhosenameIforgetrightnow) It also introduces the character to the rivalry system, as Isabella and Aveline obviously do not get on, hinting at a potential necessity of choosing between them (Bioware did mention you wouldn't be able to be mates with everybody...). And, obviously, brings in the LI factor too.

The narrative in this manner is much more efficient and assimilatable than if they just threw feature after feature at you with bigloud graphical labels. You learn more by subtext.

Who's to say when this is? We don't know how they got to Kirkwall, or how long it took them to get there, or how long they spent before getting to Isabella. Remember, this game takes place over 10 years, apparently. DA:O was what, 4 months? Add another 1-2 for Awakening, GoA and Witch hunt? So 6 months at the outside. Barely a footnote against a much more epic tale. Point is we don't know yet!

Flemeth/Darkspawn

I was thinking about the change of models too.

Flemeth is obvious. When you first meet her in DA:O, she is posing as a crazy old witch. Skilled, but seemingly harmless. Then as you speak to Morrigan, her reveal is set up gradually, building to the climax if you choose to fight her. In DA2, there is no need for such a harmless guise. Flemeth is revealed to the Hawkes in the full mantle of her power, the ageless Asha'belannar. The guise of the crone is cast aside, for there is no need for it.

The Darkspawn I'm not sure about. My initial guess is a retcon relating to something to do with the architect's work. You'll notice that the Disciples also appeared more human than their grunt cousins in DA:A. If the Architect's storyline is going to be advanced any further in DA2, this might help with relatability.

Whatever the reason turns out to be, I like the new darkspawn. The old ones were just monsters, but the obvious human lineage of the hurlocks and qunari of the ogres in DA2 suggested the possibility of greater depth to them in this installment.
