And it's damn loading screens! I have it for the PS3, and I know for a fact that if I had bought it for the 360, I could install the game to improve performance, but primarily reduce load times. I'm not exactly too familiar with my PS3 as it has seen less action than my PC or 360. Anyway, is there a way to "install" on the PS3 to reduce those pesky loading screens?

I'm pretty sure that there is a way, but I'm not sure on the specifics as I haven't used my PS3 in over a year.

Most PS3 games require an installation, with a good chunk make installing optional. Did you check through all the options? If you did and couldn't find anything, not sure what to say.

I'm pretty sure that it installs automatically. I've never actually played a PS3 game where installing was optional. Usually it's required.
But the load times in DA2 weren't that bad for me... So I dunno.

I guess I can do another check. Where would I find the option? Game Data Utility? System Settings?

Dragon age origins had a pretty bad memory leak making the load times very long. Bioware probably "forgot" to fix that.

Fun fact: Mass effect 2 on pc has a set loading time, even if your pc could load it in say, 5 seconds, it will still display the loading screen for something around 15.

Why? That is pointless. I just don't understand the concept of it. With progress in gameing, load times have always wanted to be reduced, or made non-existant. Seems like a giant step backwards to set a base duration.

The loading screens took no more than 10 seconds for me on the 360. I did install the game, though. Origins was massively worse in the loading screen department.

I have no clue, probably had something to do with preventing game crashes. Origins was way worse though, I could play the game for 2 hours and the monster would eat up 6+ GB ram.

Clearly there isn't enough Dragon Age 2 threads! And the topic can't include "loading screens". Of course not.

2 to 5 second loading screens on PC, when moving to a completely different area. And I feel like they just want the animation to finish in them.

Don't worry, the loading screens are horribly long and frequent on 360 too.

Only New Vegas had me staring at more loading screens than this game.

Check if its in the game options(start up the game, and look through the options for it).

Otherwise exit out of the game, and on the disk press "triangle" and see if the option is there. If it isn't, I suggest google.

If its any consolation, the PC load-screens are pretty quick :D

After seeing Furb's New Vegas screenshots I'll happily drown in mods.

Oh yeah, you've also probably seen his many lists of mods. Mods that are AWESOME.
