So I got thinking today, as a massive fan of DA:O, and a so-so fan of DA2, I must ask the escapist... what do you hope for in Dragon Age 3?

Personally, I want the silent main character, and I want to be able to be an Elf or Dwarf again, possibly a Qunari. I want to have big bright menus, and equip my party. I want it to be closer to a strategy than an action game, and I DON'T WANT TO TRAPSE THROUGH REPEAT ENVIRONMENTS.

That is assuming there is a Dragon Age 3.

The only way they could pull off a Qunari PC is if they were Tal-Vashoth and had been for many years. Even that would be difficult to pull off. Overall, I think it's best to avoid that.

Personally, I'm thinking we should throw in a third protagonist, and find Hawke and the Warden. Maybe they get thrown in the same boat, but we get to experience it from their standpoint.

Also, due to the ending of the Second, it could be the battle of the two factions. Or, hell, maybe you're part of the Chantry trying to reclaim control over the situation.

P.S. I'm pretty sure there will be. The second game's ending confirms a necessity for one.

My hope for Dragon Age 3 is that they give it a nice lengthy development time instead of rushing it right out the door, little over a year after the last one.

-The combat system in DA2 was fine, though the zerg rush of enemies got annoying fast as did the fact that more waves spawned from nowhere. The option to have the old tactical style of play would be nice too.
-I'd also like non palate swapped locations.
-More freedom for party member customization, IE: their armor.
-More than one potential healer character. If you weren't playing as a mage, then Anders was your only healer because Merrill had absolutely no creation tree skills.
-Qunari party member!
-The option to play as an Elf or Dwarf again.

If all those things happen, then I will be satisfied

I was fine with how they handled Dragon Age 2, aside from re-using things when it really wasn't appropriate, like making every single cave out of two different caves total, but sectioning them off differently and giving them different entrances and exits.

I'd say if they're using a different protagonist though, it should really be not human. Though I'd also really like it to not be an elf, unless he's an elf hating elf, or at least has the option to be.

I want to see female Qunari or better yet, play as one. There were designs for them in the concept art but they never showed up.

Would also like to see less of a focus on aggro management. The way they handled Healers/Tanks/DPS in both games is alarmingly similar to how you play MMOs, and it would be nice with some innovation there.

Oh, and while they obviously need to get more environments, my biggest hope is some variation in the enemies. I don't want to have to fight the same four enemies throughout the entire game. And with the variation, how about demanding different tactics for different enemy types? Elemental resistances? Instant kill magic? Anything that will make things a little more complex and difficult would be welcome at this point.

Enemies coming in waves is the only thing I didn't like about Dragon Age 2's combat. The talent trees were much better than in Origins. So they can get rid of the former and keep the latter. Add in an isometric view to keep the PC fans happy.

Don't recycle environments, and give us at least two characters who can fill each role (Healer, Tank, DPS, and Mage DPS). The one thing that's kept me from playing Dragon Age 2 again yet is that I know I'll have to use roughly the same party member again. I love Aveline as both a character and a tank, but I like to mix things up. And Anders pissed me off so much at the end of Dragon Age 2 that I'd rather just leave him alone.

More development time to avoid all the copy-pasting, all I can ask for. Besides that I don't think much needs to be changed. But I would kind of like to not have every character be bisexual again, that was a little lame. That's only a small complaint though.

Oh, but they do need to keep the voiced protagonist and the conversation wheel.

I've got to agree with number one being more development time and less forced rush. That was really the only thing that hurt DA2 as far as I was concerned, and it was the only real cause for complaint beyond things better chalked up to personal preference.

A few things I'd like to see:
- PC being a choice of the Warden, the Champion or a 3rd new character with a good amount of interaction with the Warden and Champion (maybe even have them as party members)
- Allow for more racial choice in character creation IF having the race is going to matter as much as it did in DA:O. Doing it just cosmetically will actually hurt the series more than leaving the PC race as human only going forward
- A variety of party members with more than one for each combat role (yes, I too found Anders being the only viable healer to be annoying)
- If the choice is made to stick with a single smaller area as opposed to a trek across a larger one (I'd have no issue with either), more work needs to be put into making the smaller area really feel like it grows and changes over time
- Further ability to equip party members. I had no problem at all with the choice to stick with iconic looks for each character, but that doesn't have to come at the expense of customizability

I want to bang a qunari female if they look anything like their concept art, and I don't want copy paste IKEA dungeons/areas along with a 1 year development time.

That's really all. I'm easy to please.

The entire game will take place in one room, with a bed for the sex scene. One room is more than enough, it will allow the player to remember where the enemies will respawn, where the quest giver will appear, and where to generally go when he/she needs to take a dump.

Honestly, I don't know what to expect with DA3. Are they going to go the extra mile and craft an experience as solid as ME1/2/3, or ... well ... a meager adventure experience like the innards of Kirkwall copy-paste city was.

Meh, a real non-issue to be honest. Sure, not everyone is Bi in real life, but it's a fantasy game catered to the player. It's silly to limit to whom they may have a relationship to.

Dog, and I, were real soul mates :(

Well clearly we will be seeing a return of Hawke and the Hero of Ferelden. But I'm getting sick of staying in one place, y'know? Sure with DA 2 we got to branch out an area of the game that would have behaved more as a waypoint in other titles and in DA:O we see more places but we stay in one country. Y'know what I want, gimme the best of both worlds: give me multiple countries and give 'em as much depth as Kirkewall. Also, let's see some of the other races homelands, or some asian countries...or/*GASP* ADD JADE EMPIRE TO IT! genius

I reckon itll be pushed out in 18 months. Involve 3 locations with a additional 20 or so of mirrored, palette swapped ones. Will have 1 dialogue option. Involve QTEs. But most importantly, will let you "romance" whatever you please. Man, woman, pony, that moss covered rock you found on the side of the road, your sword, that nice little sheep.

Oh what do I HOPE itll be. Well I HOPE it wont exist at all.
Yeah, that would be nice.
If I don't enjoy it, no one can.

I hope it would be closer to Origins, because frankly, Origins was better. So incredibly bland gameplay-wise with anything (a bit less so with the mage) but still somehow better.

More Dwarven politicking. Less Dalish pussy-footing.

Seriously, the Dalish are so boring!

hmmm... I would now very much like to consummate a sexual type relationship with a Qunari. Because they look hotter than any other race
