Yes.

Inside each class you have 4 specializations. You can pick 2 if you train them. One at level 7 and another at 14.

So you can be Arcane Mage and Spirit Healer.
Well then. Goodbye to my life. Hello Dragon Age. Thankyou for making my day.
*Gets on knee*
Will you marry me?!
No. But the dog you get in game will.

Pc versions DLC, what do you need to be logged into to get it/use it?
If I buy it from Steam will the DLC be downloaded from steam and not need a third party?

I really can't decide to get it from Steam or retail, it seems like the kind of game I want a box of, but I don't know how the DLC is handled.
You need to have a EA/Bioware account to activate it, even with STEAM. It's not very complicated.

When you enter the main menu you can log/create the account or you can head down to EA/Bioware website and create it there.
Just remember to hit the refresh button on the screen after you enter the code otherwise it won't start to download right away. Also if you buy the special edition in store I think it comes with a cloth map and the Warden's Keep DLC.

Another question, should I put points in regular healing abilities at the start of the game or wait until the spirit healer specilization

EDIT: And thanks for all answers.
The Spirit Healer specialization only gives you a small stats boost and a new line of skills. You are still going to primarily be using Heal and Regeneration from the regular Healing tree, so yes grab those.
Thankyou.

Cheers for quick reply, if it's the same wherever I get it I think I'm going for retail.
Every regular version(Retail and Steam) of the game brings the DLC stone prisoner which adds a new character to the game.

The special editions don't bring Stone Prisoner DLC and the Blood Armor that can be reedemed for both DA:O and ME2 but Wardens Keep DLC(A dungeon) and a handfull of cool items.

But first, you need to either find NPC's that have that class to teach it to you, have one of your allies who already has a specialization teach you (Wynne is Spirit Healer, Morrigan is a Shapeshifter), or find a shopkeeper with a manual that teaches you the specialization (they are usually expensive)
After you unlock the specilization once by any means, it remains available for future playthroughs as well.

If I'm not mistaken, there is are a few options for unlocking most specilizations. However, in terms of effort/in game cost requirements, the easiest way to get them are:

Bard - Taugt by Leliana if approval is high enough
Assassin - Taught by Zeverin if approval is high enough
Shapeshifter - taught by Morrigan
Templar - Taught by Alistair
Beserker - Taught by oghrim
Duelist - learned from Isabella, in the Pearl are of Denerim
Arcane Warrior - learned from a spirit trapped in a philactry in the Dalish Elves quest
Blood Mage - Learned from Desire demon in the fade during Redcliff quest line (only if PC is a mage though).
Ranger - learned from a book sold by camp vendor
Spirit Healer - Learned from Wynn
Champion - Learned from Arl Eamon upon completing Redcliff questline

I have a spec question to avoid making another thread. With vista DAO reccomends an nvidia 8800gts. I meet all the other requirements, 4 gigs ram, 2.5 quad etc etc...but my vid is an Overclocked 8800gt@512. I mean, i'm sure i can still run it, but was just looking for some info if ne1 comes close to my machine and how it runs on their rig, or what im honestly looking at to run the game at max settings. Just curious.

You can even freely double-specialise other members of your party. Wynne and Morrigan are bloody scary when they've got Arcane Warrior points. OO

When you can, go to a place called the Brecillian forest and follow the main quest line through that. Explore the ruins you end up in a bit and you'll find a trapped spirit that'll teach you it.

Is the spirit the spirit of the forest or a different spirit? I free'd them all from being werewolves but now I fear ive lost my chances of getting arcane warrior..

It's a different one. You need to explore the ruins as much as possible, make sure you go everywhere you can. I can't remember where it is, but it's trapped in a stone and it asks you to destroy it.

You missed Reaver off that list which is unlocked during the Redcliffe questline if you

Dump Dragon's blood into the Urn and corrupt it. You get the specialisation when you walk outside and talk to the cultists again.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have Wynne and/or Leliana with you when doing this, they will rebel and attack you. Not sure if they rebel if you do it while they're back at camp. Not tested it.
