As much as I wish it had multiplayer, Dragon Age: Origins will not have any mutliplayer, but it will have a device to make user created stuff (So far only for PC, maybe on PS3 and Xbox 360).

The game will have future DLCs that MIGHT contain some multiplayer aspects, but Bioware thinks not. Bioware Co-Founder Ray Muzyka states "This is a single-player game, and we chose to make it so that we really invest you as the character going through the world and make the experience that much more immersive and deep," he also says "There's a ton of downloadable content planned, and also the user content generation tool is going to release. So user-generated content, at least on PC - we'll explore whether it's feasible on the console systems - will be shared with other players and fans. There's also servicing of your Achievements and what you've done in the game; that'll be true on all the systems,"

So I find myself wondering two things, how would the multiplayer work, my thoughts were either the party leader would have his team of his choice, and one of the team mates would be the second player, or the six man team would change to a four man team both players choose one team member to join them, and the other would choose another and that would be the team.

My next thought was what would you created using the user generated system?

Dragon Age not having multiplayer is pretty much old news.

"User created stuff" as in "weapons, armours, areas and quests"?
If that's the case I would use it to make weapons, armours, areas and perhaps even quests.

Tons of DLC, you say? Well the original game better be worth it alone, too. Sony doesn't want to release prepaid PSN-cards here. Also PSN doesn't accept my kind of creditcard.

If multiplayer is getting in there through DLC, it would probably end up as a few people in a zone battling a few hordes. The few people would then be replacing the computer-controlled characters.

It's unlikely that future DLC will ever introduce multiplayer into Dragon Age. The game was developed with single player architecture. It would take a Hell of a lot more than DLC to change something that fundamental to the engine core. Anybody that tries to suggest otherwise is only fooling themselves.

Although I wish for the multiplayer of Baldur's Gate, I know that I probably won't see any more games with that feature. This was one game I was hoping it would rear its head, but alas, I'll just have to play by myself...

Good. RPGs are one of the genres I do prefer to play in a purely singleplayer capacity.

There are some games out there that just don't need multiplayer, so I'm glad they're giving it a miss.

Ahhh good times. Gone are the days of playing an RPG for a whole weekend with friends. Well, we'll just have to settle for pen and paper ;)

I'm perfectly fine with that. Many games of that type are actually ruined by their multiplayer. Direct confrontations are decided by gear and class not skill. Reducing it to a level of pointlessness unless you are among the few that are willing to invest a huge chunk of your life into it.

At this point I just wish they'd hurry up and get it on the shelves...

Oh well in the meantime at least the new wolfenstien is finally about to hit shelves.

While I agree with your some games are ruined by multiplayer (Exhibit A: KOTOR never had multiplayer and its an amazing game. Exhibit B: Fable 2's multiplayer is very boring in my opinion) But if it was system link then atleast me, and my friends could roam arond slaying a variety of innocent rabbits, or just go kill monsters, and advance the story. Also the new Wolfenstine is gonna kick ass!
