You mean it doesn't use a "click-to-attack" interface with an action-bar full of hotkeys for abilities/spells and potions? Take your ritalin dude.Neodavid62 said:and NO even WoW has more classes&races and the GUI is NOTHING LIKE WoW
You mean Dungeon Seige is very similar to Baldur's Gate. I have never played Dungeon Seige, but if Dragon Age is based on Baldur's Gate and happens to be similar to Dungeon Seige, then that means Dungeon Seige was most likely based on Baldur's Gate.Neodavid62 said:if you didnt actually pay attention while reading this post I LIKE THIS GAME so dont flame me about that..also it IS very very simaler to DUNGEON SEIGE 2
That was his fucking point. It uses the generic RPG interface, which just happens to be what WoW uses as well.Neodavid62 said:if you had a brain everything has a click to attack function nowadays and you get around 3 actionbars for your party members(however many you have)that are all substantially shorter then a normal one like in WoW
Did you fail on the reading comprehension roll?Neodavid62 said:JediMB said:Not having played Baldur's Gate, I have to say that to me DAO, to me, is like a mix between Fallout (1&2), Knights of the Old Republic and World of Warcraft. Sense, you make none.
Dragon Age: Origins is not a Dungeon Seige Remake.
Have you yet to realise that fantasy games lack fantasy?
Much of the gameplay is the same in this game as in KOTOR and Mass effect
because of the developer, and that is it. no reamake!
just a great game! I love it allready.
and just for the Record Oblivion Kicked arse!
i love oblivion XD but the entire chat system in the game sucks
No it is not.Neodavid62 said:if you didnt actually pay attention while reading this post I LIKE THIS GAME so dont flame me about that..also it IS very very simaler to DUNGEON SEIGE 2
WHAT!!!Neodavid62 said:if you havent noticed(and obviously you havent) it plays EXACTLY like DS2(DS2 has a story too, unless you were to blind to notice)i have beaten DS2 4 times and i know its gameplay when i see it,now i do think that Bioware got lazy at one point(or they didnt want to give the charecter that much control)
I get what you're tryiing to say, but here's the thing. Baldur's Gate and previous BioWare titles helped inspire some of the MMOs you're saying DA:O rips off. And thus, DA:O's not really copying them, it follows a formula that BioWare likes to use, one that works for them. If you're having trouble relating to the NPCs...then I'm sad for you. I'm one of those games-are-art freaks who looks at this game on par with a great film or movie, and thus the side characters are integral to it.Malicious said:Im not saying it copes BG im saying it copies mmos, but not entirely. I myself cant really make a bond with npc's, especially when you can control them. There's not that many endings really and the whole race/class thing is just overdone. I really don't think we needed another game like this, but then again im just one person.high_castle said:I think you're missing the point of DA:O, and that's its characters. It's not a multiplayer experience you're doing alone, it's a single player game based on your interactions with other people. The point of this game is understanding and forging relationships with not just your companions, but other NPCs. It adds a personal touch to the usual save-the-world concepts, and in that respect is actually quite unique. Too many games have sidekicks that are just afterthoughts, or NPCs that act like set-pieces. This game's characters interact with you on several different levels. I've played it through a couple times now, and I'm surprised to see how different the game can become if you go about it a slightly different way. There's a lot of variance in here, more so than in most games.
When folks say it's a spiritual successor to BG, they mean it builds on the themes that game dealt with. But the game's combat and class structure have been entirely reworked from BG. It's not based of DnD rules, either. So the game's not a copy, I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by saying it is.
