Dragon Ball Kai- Opinions?

To my suprise a new DB series is airing in Japan with enhanced visuals, re-done soundtrack and the dialoge was edited.Some stuff was put in,and a lot of stuff was taken out.

The visuals of the intro video are stunning,but i was lead to assume the entire show's visuals would be like it.It was just remastered.
But isn't that what the HD remastered DVD's were made for?Maybe i'm just being cynical.
Maybe i should be thankful the series is still going strong and hope for an english dub to air on western tv and (just an option) bring Cartoon Network back to life?

What do my fellow escapists think?
Should we fans rejoice in gleeful glee?
Or do we just ignore it and move on?

From what I hear they cut out a lot of the crap that many people ridiculed DBZ for (the constant "constipation"). If thats true then I see good things coming from Dragon Ball Kai in the future.

That being said I've been actively watching them as they come out. So far only 2 out.

Well, now I have a new Dragonball to watch to reaffirm the awesomeness of DB after the movie left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

IT'S AWESOME.

More action in less episodes, what more can you want? 20 minutes won't last 5 episodes, and 20 seconds won't last 5 minutes.

They subbed if that helps.And they already have 2 episodes out so far.They were very nice to watch even if Goku and Bardock sounded like castrated 9 year olds.

That might take a long time, why not just watch the English sub?

...have long power-up sequences that can take up to several episodes?

...involve like two guys fighting while everyone else gawks like an idiot?

...still be badly dubbed so you get things like "DARN YOOOOUUUU!!!!!"?

If these things are still present, then it is not worth watching in my opinion.

Its a remake of DBZ with less filler and should end with the Frieza saga like it originally was suppose to.

So..it might be good. Wish they had remade the animation but meh...

I think its really funny how many people make fun of Dragon Ball for its anime stereotypes. The reason? Because its a parody. If you watch the Japanese version of that show its actually a satire of anime, its supposed to be ridiculous like that.
I guess it just means that the translators were unable to recognize when something is tongue-in-cheek.

Rather than waiting for an English dub,I'll just dive into the subbed episodes. But if they get the old actors who did the original series to do the English Dub I'll watch it.

Dragon Ball Kai is DBZ without the filler, I'm not sure if this is true but they have redone the visuals for the Freiza arc and after. It is following the manga story exactly so it will end on the Buu arc.

But aint this one only going to have around 100 episodes? Abit hard to cram 4 story arcs into 100 episodes. And they said that the remake of the visuals were just rumors and the only thing they did was pass it to HD quality or something.

Yeah, I'm for this as long as the modernize the pacing of the story. Take out the filler, etc.
