Dragon Quest has maintained a very simple design style since it's NES days and is pretty much always set in the same Generic Fantasy World with a fairly uninspired overall plot. It's battles are always very simple turn based affairs, the only thing that makes them interesting being the wide and amusing variety of skills you can acquire. Final Fantasy is much more dynamic, but does lack Toriyama's colorful designs.TsunamiWombat said:What exactly is the DIFFERENCE between DQ and FF? they're both Genero-RPG's. Except DQ's art direction tends to rely on Toriyama and is thus superior and metrosexual free.
But what happens when you mix Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy? You get Chrono Trigger and that was awesome.
