Well, that's pretty neat. I planned on picking it up alongside Muramasa: Rebirth and possibly Soul Sacrifice, so it's cool that they're offering a little bit of narrative customization free for the first month.

I think it's kind of funny that they made such a big deal about the sexist art of the sorceress and then they use it as the image for the news article.
Well done, Escapist, as always.
Yep, because it totally couldn't be the simple fact that the Sorceress thumbnail used for ALL Dragons Crown news is used as a simple way of sorting the articles so to speak, or that people have complained before when the Escapist DIDN'T use said Sorceress thumbnail for a piece of Dragons Crown news.
Really? People complained when they didn't use it? What exactly was their mentality behind it? I am curious. I really don't care what thumbnail they use, personally. I just thought it was funny.

Day One DLC that is free for early adopters sounds like a compromise that potentially makes both sides happy.
Agreed.

While I have no interest in this game at all, this model of DLC is one I quite like.

So free DLC? A thing thats been going for a while now, seen that with many other games, never was advertised here...

Also, I am again reminded that this is most probably one of the ugliest games I ever saw. That artstyle just doesn't sit with me, it is not a case of gender issues but I just find this 'extremes' repulsing (I am more of a petite women guy) and the everything about the characters looks just wrong (tiny heads on disfigured bodies)...
That is essentially why I don't like it. I find the characters to be kind of creepy looking. I don't mind designs that are a little over the top, but even when stylised I prefer them to look more human than they do. The muscles look more like lumps of flesh and the proportions are just too off for me.

They didn't complain that they didn't use the Sorceress, they complained that they used the Sorceress picture when discussing the Amazon character. The reason for using the Sorceress was as the other person said, to keep the articles organised.

So Grey decided to use a picture of the Amazon (river) instead. It was very funny.

Link to where he did it.

I ended up preordering the game just because of how much the backlash against it annoyed me.

Adult thing to do? Probably not, but I end up feeling better and I suppose that's what is important :p.
Admittedly, despite my general lack of interest in "sexy" characters, the more I hear people complaining about them, the more I feel like having an animated avatar of one just to wind those people up.

It'd be petty (which is why I haven't done it), but then so are half the complaints, and at least it'd get a few laughs out of it. As people are taking this kind of thing far too seriously right now.

I hope there's a DLC narrator voice pack that features Stephen Frye, because he's fucking amazing.

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn would also be acceptable.

I'l just wait for the "NOT selling myself off as a cheap whore like my original outfit" costume pack for the women, then i'l think about buying it.
The Elf is very reasonably dressed. I think you mean "woman".
You mean the little girl?
