Story was total garbage.. as in the story progress... it was a confusing mess of badly told exposition and characters that showed up for 1 or 2 quests in the background but yet you where told they where having this "huge" impact on the going ons in the kingdom and yet it never felt this way.

The pawns could never shut their damn traps and the lack of quicktravel system made parts of the game where you had to travel from one end to the other atrocious

And yet.. the game was effing awesome. The fight with the dragon? Best fucking boss fight i ever had... to bad they had to follow it up with a really shitty final boss fight that couldnt hold a candle to the dragon.

The fights against the big monsters where awesome too, hanging onto enemies for dear live while trying to attack their weakspots.

Class system was awesome too, being able to freely change between classes at a whim at most Inns at the game and a plethora of equipment and weapons that allowed for some really stylish combos was also really awesome.

Bitterblack isle, the dungeon the expansion is all about can be tough as nails since the larger monsters there have an absurd amount of HP and simply will wither you down with status effects most of the time, but the hunt for better loot and the semi random placement of big monsters make it a passable expansion.

All in all i can recommend this game... if you dont mind the lack of a quick travel system and can ignore the horrible plot pacing and BS ending.

EDITH:

Forgot to mention the great character generator. You can play anything from little boy to fat sassy black woman... well less sass but you get the drift.

I'm not holding my breath, they're not known for their stellar ports.

This is been more of an actual dream than the FF7 remake. All the port has to do is remove the bars, and run at at least a steady 60fps (AA and texture filtering can be forced if they can't be arsed), and I'll double dip the hell out of this. I was always there for the combat, which would be amazing in a butter smooth environment. The DmC reboot had a great port, so I think it depends on who ports it. Either way this is great, and hopefully a testbed to see about porting Online over here.

I suppose this is good news, but I'd like a proper sequel to happen eventually instead of just a freemium rent seeking scheme.

Oh. My. God. This is a thread about a Capcom title. But I cannot say anything negative, snarky or dismissive :-\

I've wished for DD:DA on PC since playing the 360 version. It is ideally suited to the platform and has so much potential. While the story was throwaway, the game had oodles of nuance, interesting mechanics and replayability.

Capcom have, this once, done a good thing, the right way. This is good news I am happy to read and I will be among the first to order this when it's out. If they released a modding toolset to go with it, it would have a permanent place on my hard drive next to Skyrim, but that's wishful thinking of the highest order. Still, GG Capcom for doing something that will make fans happy and make you money.

Is it just me or are games that would have never seen a PC release years ago now getting PC releases?
In this case it's a little more than just a game that would never have seen a release. There have [https://www.change.org/p/dragon-s-dogma-for-pc] been [http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/27442377/Dragons_Dogma_for_PC_-show_your_support!?pg=1] petitions [http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/dragonsdogma-pc/] to [http://petitionbureau.org/dragonsdogmaforpc] get this on PC, constant refusals/dismissals of the suggestion, long periods of silence where the "franchise" (if one game and a rerelease can be called such) had no news. Then the news of an MMO hit and all of us DD fans with PCs groaned collectively. As with Eidos' games Thief (reboot) and Hitman Absolution, Capcom were giving us something we didn't want, need or ask for and not giving us the things we did.

This news changes that. They're giving fans something they do want and that is a good thing. I would be interested to know if there's any change to the save system but even though that isn't ideal for PC gamers, for the chance to play the sandbox RPG on PC, it's a small price to pay.

I've already played the game to the point of tedium, so this is hardly big news for me, specifically, but I've been telling my PC-exclusive friends how fun this game was for a long time now. It's good to see this is finally getting a port...

...albeit a Capcom PC port... I know a bit better than to get excited off the bat when hearing that.

I just bought the PS3 version :(

If it has a decent port, I will probably get the pc version, too...
At least its a little cheaper.
You should have went with the 360 I hear the PS3 has major framerate drops.

Back on topic, FINALLY! Oh I can't wait, I've been wanting a game like Dragon's Dogma on PC for so freaking long it's not even funny.
Maybe it was fixed with Dark Arisen, but the constant, vapid chatter ruined the game for me. I would wait until some generous PC modder volunteers to "fix" how your party members constantly drone on and on with stupid observations, terrible advice, and contradicting statements. I like to think that this hypothetical mod will be called STFU.

Otherwise, I begrudgingly admit it was a fairly decent game.
YES Dark Arisen DID address the constant Pawn chatter and they talk FAR less and repeat themselves far less often.

So let me get this straight, Capcom is porting Dragon's Dogma to PC now, or rather january next year, all of a sudden after making not a peep despite alot of people asking for it before the new gen of consoles was even out. Let's see what else releases around that time, ah yes Dark Souls 3 in first Quarter of 2016. Coincidence? I think not.

It's rather obvious they are trying to contend with the next From Soft game considering the games are somewhat similar (you slay giant bosses and all that) after From Soft, or Bandai really in this instance, proved that there is a large audience for such games on all platforms not just consoles. Timing really seems way too specific to be accidental, especially since Souls 3 will probably launch in February next year.

I just recently started (and paused) a new playthru and the chatter was getting to me. I threw my pawn into the sea, equipped the solo augments and haven't looked back. Blissful silence. Just a shame the NG+ mode is a little poorly executed...as is the Hard Mode. Short of starting a new game or staying exclusively in BBI, there's little challenge to be had.
