first of, i love the bow in games like this, but i do not see the difrence between Strider and Ranger (apart from i am better at long range), i still whant to try assassin and magic-archer on this game, so what will be beter in turns of pure dps and pure speed

Essentially:

Strider = more proficient with daggers than bows
Ranger = more proficient with bows than daggers

At least, as far as I can tell. I'm running a Sorcerer Arisen with a Fighter main pawn. :x

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. :D

If you would like, dragsaw, allow me to direct you to the currently in-construction Dragon's Dogma Wiki for a more detailed breakdown between the two classes. :D

Striders balance thier dagger and shortbow skills.

Rangers focus on longbow skills. Several of the bow skills that the Strider has are greatly improved if you become a Ranger. This comes at the cost of being unable to learn some of the Striders late game dagger skills.

On a side note, Assassins develop diffetent skills in all of the 4 weapons they can use. Also one of the sword skills is a game breaker against large bosses with vulnerable weakpoints, such as Dragon-family foes.

And Magick Archers are in an entirely different league compared to the other range classes, simply due to that the magick bows they use dont do physical damage. Theyre also quite hard to get the hang of, as theyre skills all require a large amount of stamina.

However the most important thing to remember is that all classes are equally viable.

Rangers use skills that deliver ranged DPS like no other. You can fire 10 arrows in the blink of an eye. Make them blast arrows, and you turn everything into puddles of fire and l00t.

If i were you, id join the dragons dogma reddit.
Im more an escapist then a redditor (redditite? reddiganian?), but alot of useful info gets posted on it, and the community is pretty decent. You can even set up trades for items on it.
