I will get straight to the point:

What is the easiest, best program or best interface to draw on a computer?

The reason I'm asking is this:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/530.174206-Artist-s-Wanted-for-Avatar-Adventure-based-Webcomic#4896779

For those too lazy to click and read the link it is a job advertisement in the new Job forum section advertising for an Artist to draw web-comics.

Now I a very interested in this, and I can draw fairly well with a pencil and paper.
However seeing as this is an internet web-comic I assume it will need to be computer based
Please re-read my original question and help me out.

I await answers with baited breath

You could always buy one of those tablets that lets you draw on it with a special stylus that gets put on screen; easy pen drawn web comic fun.

I'm pretty sure there are tablets you can get that plug in via USB, then you can draw on those and use the software that comes with it. I don't have any names or preferences, but my cousin is a digital artist and he uses one.

Some sort of graphics tablet would probably be very useful. And there are a number of free programs such as GIMP and Inkscape that you can use to draw in. They may not be the best, but they're free.

I'd say get one of those tablet whatsits - they work like a DS touchscreen, only better. A friend of mine uses one, and her drawings are pretty amazing.

Of course, there's nothing stopping you from just drawing it out on paper and using a scanner.

EDIT: Ninja'd on both counts. Impressive.

A scanner?... :p
That had already crossed my mind, however I doubt a pencil drawn comic strip will hold up in the Escapists' webcomic contest unfortunately

Draw it, scan it, use the pencil-lines on your scan to draw it over with paint/gimp/whatever

A tablet is good, even though my brother took some time getting used to it, because he got a lot of practice with the mouse. GIMP is an OK program, free and a good alternative for photoshop(I heard that, so don't take it literally, I never used photoshop). I, personally, like my GIMP + tablet combination, but it's all up to you and your preferences. You can also use paint, but you don't get all the fancy stuff.

I use an older Wacom Intuos [http://www.wacom.com/intuos/] for actually drawran 'n stuff. The idea is the same, but because the surface and the actual instrument you "draw" with are different, it feels kind of weird at first. As for programs, the easiest to work with is probably Photoshop because of the whole "layers" thing, if nothing else. Since I don't own that, though, I usually just screw around with MS Paint whenever I'm actually tempted to use the tablet in the first place.

Edit: I should probably note that Photoshop isn't the only program that has layers 'n junk. It's just one of the most common names in digital media.

Wacom tablet and Gimp for me as well. You can get a tablet for relatively cheap and while it does take a little getting used to, I couldn't live without mine.

Get a Tablet.

There's a Wacom one that I use and it's better than any drawing (aside from moving it around)

first of all. as other people have said, Get a tablet. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's worth it. Now, it sounds like what you want is a program which turns scanned images into vector lines. which are then much easier to clean up in photoshop or whatever, rather then just redrawing the lines over the top.

Ok new question, I have just purchased a Tablet what comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements and ArtRage. Will this be sufficient for my needs?
