Dream Pain

I just read a Facebook friend's status, and it reminded me of an odd dream I had a couple of weeks back. Not much to say about it, but at one point in the dream, I was shot. It felt so real- tremendous pain surged through me, and it seemed like my actual body lurched backward in bed, though I cannot confirm if this happened. Though this was not the first time I had been hurt in a dream, it is one of the few moments where I felt pain, or thought I felt it. Anyone else ever have an experience like this?

Yep, i had a dream in which air was pumpued intoa vien in my arm with some needle thing, the pain was mild but stung in a very real way. All matrixy like. Where "real" is electrical signals in your brain.

Well once I was dreaming that I pulled a muscle in my leg.

The I woke up and realised I HAD pulled a muscle in my leg. While I was sleeping.

Don't ask me how I managed that.

Mines the other way round, I just feel numbed in dreams. Been shot, punched the crap out of, stabbed, never feel a thing. Can't say I mind either.

This was something that I thought about when watching Inception - I can't remember ever feeling physical pain in a dream before.

That's... impressive. In a spectacularly mal-coordinated kind of way.

Yeah, I feel pain in dreams. Reliving the same fall over and over again has led to broken ribs, legs, and arms, massive bruising, and a punctured lung, all in different dreams of the same event. Thing is, I've never broken anything in real life. Still hurts like a ***** in-dream...

I can also smell and taste things! Then again, whilst awake I can imagine pretty much any smell, taste, sound or feeling I like anyway - I just have a fairly active imagination.

Two nights ago, but I'm not sure if it was the dream or if I just hit my head. Basically I was just chatting with someone (quite the imagination, I know) and then suddenly it felt like some trust a bundle of blue spikes right through my ear, prompting a lovely internal image of that happening.

Needless to say I woke up immediately. Since I was just chatting in my dream I might have just bumped into the bed head, but it really didn't feel like that kind of pain. But then again I also had a fever at the time...

Once I had a dream where I felt like I was dying and descending into hell, it was really scary. I woke up to find that the sheet was around my neck and I was involuntarily choking myself. That was kind of freaky, but it didn't actually "hurt" I guess.

Maybe you were one your way to hell, and unless you woke up, you would be there right now! Just kidding, but it is freaky. BOOOOoooooOOOOooo.

Sometimes i get the falling sensation in my dreams, but that's normal, no pain, also it'simpossibl to hurt other people in a dream, e.g punches don't connect

I have done this before though. I've also had dreams where it feels like I'm being strangled by a family member. It felt really real, as though it wasn't a dream and really creeped me out. Usually injuries in dreams for me tend to be down to me falling out of bed or getting caught in the sheets.

I occasionally feel a vague suggestion of being stabbed in the armpits during nightmares. Most likely it's just a case of my t-shirt being hiked up, since I cannot stand the sensation of anything digging into that area even when I'm awake.
It usually figures into the dream quite well. The instance that stands out the most was being lifted by some Lovecraftian monstrosity that resided near a chicken-run in our old house.
