The other night I had a horrible nightmare. I was stuck in a dark room, I'm terrified of the dark, and everyone I knew kept yelling at me that I should have killed myself when I had suicidal thoughts, which was about 6 years ago now I think. It was pretty damn hurtful really. Other than that I normally have good dreams.

Hmm, I never really have too many nightmares, but I tend to get a lot of weird dreams. Like last night for instance.

I was in this really elaborate town, made of a lot of brick buildings, but it was massive and filled with a lot of people. I was with this one girl (who I was friends with I think), and this guy decides to hit on her, so she decides to flirt back. Then he starts getting agitated, and we somehow figure out that this guy is addicted to V (aka Vampire blood. True Blood FTW apparently), which the girl was just not into. In fact, she hated anyone who did V. The guy was mad obviously, saying that she only hates him just because she hates all people who do V, no matter who they are. I tried to step in, saying that if this guy was taking V, but in a non addictive way, then there is a slight chance that this girl would possible go out with him, although it was slim.

The guy then takes out this...the only way I could describe it would be something like a cross between a Hello Kitty doll and the mouth of Cthulhu. This immediately put me off and I backed away a couple of steps, not because of the existence of the doll though, it was because his looked positively evil. Well, it looked more like a heavy metal rocker than evil, but I found it to be very unsettling. He then starts speaking to the Cthulhu Kitty, saying "Kill everybody, everybody in this town!" The Cthulhu Kitty disappears and transforms into some type of crazy demon, one that I never really got a good look at. However, the demon turned into smoke, went down a chimney, and the house connected to it just exploded. Needless to say, it was time to get the hell out of there.

I take out my own Cthulhu Kitty (sadly don't remember what it looked like) and using its powers, I managed to make a big blue shield around myself, and I could also fly. The demon was literally oblitering the town. The streets would bubble up and explode in fire, you could hear people trying to get away only to fail, and it was hard to see where you were going. The girl apparently also tried to use her Cthulhu Kitty for the same purpose of protection and flying, so we decided to link our shields together and try to rescue as many people as we could. But the air streams above the city were so violent that our shields kept getting seperated almost everytime we would pick a person up, until we couldn't even really fly straight anymore.

Out of nowhere, the Justice League shows up. Well, I mostly remember the big 3 (Superman, Batman, WonderWoman), but I think all of them were there. Superman managed to keep our shields together, and guided us out of the city, which pretty much didn't exist anymore. There was litteraly a big pile of rubble, if that. He takes us to a safe place, and we all contimplate our survival. We thank Superman, who was apparently using his own Cthulhu Kitty to help us. Apparently, his Cthulhu Kitty belonged to his son who was dead. In honor of his son, he would use his Cthulhu Kitty's powers to "protect as many people as possible", hence why we survived. Superman then applauded me for helping people, saying I was the real hero, and not him.

After the city was destroyed, I fell into a sort of depression because I wasn't able to save a lot more people. The depression was so much, that I fell into a coma while driving.

So yeah, pretty strange I guess. Really the only nightmares I have are of the very real Sleep Paralysis, although I haven't gotten too much of that lately. The worst parts are when I dream of having Sleep Paralysis, and I can never tell its a dream until I wake up.

I don't get dreams anymore. So now I shall attempt Lucid Dreaming for the rest of the summer.

It doesn't matter what happens in the dream. It could be about anything, but 90% of the time, the ground beneath me will be torn asunder randomly. It can happen several times within the same dream: it can happen, the dream can shift somewhere else and once again the ground will split.

Why? Hell if I know.

As a kid I'd have a recurring dream of being mauled by the Fox's Glacier Mints polar bear.

My most recent dream was me in a brothel. That was fun.

My dreams have been pretty ultra-violent as of late.

Last night I dreamed I was trapped in a house fighting off Necromorphs. Luckily, when my leg was hacked off it was only a dream.

I had this one dream of me being totally limp and numb where one big bug started sucking the blood in my arm until it shrivels up. I try to hit it with my other limp arm but it justs flops around the bug, missing it. I have a lot of dreams where I'm totally helpless.

Once had a dream that involved me walking around in a large model train city, I guess that is what it would be called. All of a sudden I got pulled aside by a spider that looked like a person wearing overalls, that pulled me by the neck using a large farming scythe. All that it says is "Fear the pink jumping spider". Next thing I know it would seem that my dream fast forwarded a bit, I was now holding a pistol in Doom fashion shooting at a pink jumping spider that was about the size of a large dog. I have no idea why any of that occurred in my head.

Many other times I just have the typical falling dream. You know, things start normal, like say you're sitting down on a chair, then you look down and you are in the middle of the sky. Then you start falling and just before you hit ground, BOOM, you shoot upright from where you were.

My favorite dream is one I had a few years back. Evil vampires, (actual vampires, not pussy-ass Twipires) had taken over the world and I led a revolution. At the end, we stormed Dracula's castle, and I slew him in a sword fight in his throne room, which was this long ass bridge over a massive lava lake. And the bridge was crumbling away. Twas an epic dream.

I also had one when I was stuck on a junkyard planet fighting robots.

Well, there was this bright light where I heard the shrill cry of whiny children at me, but I couldn't stop laughing at Mike Nelson, and then I met a man who arranges the blocks... [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWTFG3J1CP8]

My dreams are rich and very story telling-ish. It's always different, but the girl in my dream is always the same, which I find weird. I dont know her in person, but she is french with short red hair and beautiful ember/ light brown eyes. I havent even seen someone resembling that description.
Also I have noticed that "scary" things i.e. monsters, ghosts demons ect. are not scary in my dreams, adversaries yes, but i handle myself well.

Once I actually died in my dreams and spent the next half of the dream as someone else avenging my own death. That was weird.

I can remember two I've had. First one was a reoccuring nightmare, the second I've only dreamt once (thank heavens).

I'm walking around outside in a familiar place, usually where I grew up, and just going about my day poking stuff. Suddenly a pack of Jurassic Park velociraptors appears (yeah...), which obviously starts chasing me. I try to run, but my knees feel stiff and slow, making running impossible. I always wake up before they catch me, though.

Sometimes, there is a man in a van chasing me instead of Cretacious monsters.

In the other one I'm buried down in the ground with only my head sticking up. Around me are enormous centipedes. Like, big black centipedes á la King Kong size with extra huge. And, you see, I have a little thing for centipedes and millipedes. They're freaking horrible and I wish they'd all die. Anyway, the dream ended with one of the giant suckers crawled into my mouth and down my throat.

I have odd dreams all the time, mostly when the room is too hot. The worst nightmares I've had are those creepily realistic ones that involve anxiety and guilt and such - I used to dream that I cheated on my boyfriend. Then I'd wake up and for a few seconds I'd panic at the horror because I thought I'd actually done it.

When I was little I dreamt that I was Moomin and that a UFO was landing on my head.

An interesting thread. I have rather strange dreams. Few examples off the bat:

I go to pick up a hairless pink bear cup on my arms from the yard, just so I can come back to the porch and give it to my favorite rock star, so I can cut a piece of a cake for myself with both hands free.

Flying as a passenger on a small helicopter. The driver was the newly elected Finnish president. I did, nothing but enjoyed the absolutely beautiful scenery. Had goosebumps awhile after waking up. The views were so magnificent.

A long dream, driving slowly in a neighborhood that only had wooden houses. People everywhere having sex, or going somewhere to have sex. Warm, muggy weather, and the al-wooden houses we go through are seemingly endless. After some while driving in a car again, I notice Einstein sitting on a bench, in front of a house. I want to have a photo taken of me and him. The event turns out to be a really big deal for the people present, and I worry about it going well. After the photo we begin to discuss with Einstein and start walking. After awhile we are on a coast somewhere and he turns into John Lithgow. He is still Einstein in a way though. We hop on a motorcycle and begin driving across the globe. We change to cars, helicopters and back to motorcycle again. The speed is so fast that 100m high grassy hills are just little bumps on the road.

The only time I can remember reading something on a dream is in an urban environment, where I stop to closely examine a movie poster. I'd never seen or read the same thing before. There's a simplistic painting of a mountain, and beneath it reads: (roughly translated from Finnish:) "It's better to have fortune in disaster, than hope at the base of disappointment".

Also, I do not see nightmares.

OK, so you know how dreams tend to switch from story to story, and you usually only remember one or two of them? Well, once, I remembered all of them. It was...interesting.

It all started when I was woken up by my dad, who had come to my house to take me to my eye appointment. This is odd, because my eyes are perfect and I have never seen a doctor about them in my life. My dad explains that this means I am over-due for eye-problems, and I should see a doctor just in case. Unfortunately, I've overslept and now we're late, so I have to get ready fast. I get my clothes and climb out my window to change (naturally) but then I feel a bit creepy because there's small children outside, and they start riding tricycles around me in circles. Anyway, I get my pants on before someone can call protective services, and climb back into my room, where my dad is busy fighting a werewolf with an enormous spear. (That is, he's using an enormous spear to fight a werewolf) We get it locked my bathroom and head out, because apparently we have bigger things to worry about.

Unfortunately, when we arrive, I discover that my eye doctor is Gus from Breaking Bad, and the "doctor's office" is his super lab. Naturally, he has to kill me now. (My dad has disappeared by now, and it appears the whole "eye appointment" plotline has been dropped) So we have a massive ninja duel, and eventually I defeat him and his army of henchmen with my airbending powers. (I forgot to mention, I became Tenzin from Legend of Korra at some point. I have no idea exactly when this happened) With the danger gone, I take my family (that is, Tenzin's family) to the beach, to calm down my frightened children.

This proves unsuccessful, as the beach soon becomes a landing pad for a Cthulhu-like monster, who crash-lands into the ocean from space. This generates a massive wave that pretty much destroys the world, but I protect my family with an air-bending bubble. By the time the water calms down, Cthulhu has arrived at the shore. I get ready to fight him, knowing that I'll probably lose, when Gandalf arrives in a flying shopping cart. We all climb in and he flies us to safety.

Posted a while ago in a different thread but still a good description of my bad dreams.

Redlin5 said:
I have reoccurring bad dreams. Frequently I'm back in high school failing all my courses. Then there's the one with the staircases without railings where I *must* keep moving upwards and the stairs get narrower and narrower to the wall and I end up falling...

The worst reoccurring one is seeing my family killed. Doesn't happen that often anymore but for a bit I would regularly wake up in a sweat.

Here's my dream chat group if you're interested in talking about dreams. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-Dreamer-Society]
Usually however I don't have bad nightmares. I can have really good mornings where I remember vivid details but if I work (and I do work 4/7 days a week) I can't get to my user group to describe them as I'm on my way to work.

I love dreams, dreams have inspired me in many ways.
