Makes me sad, because I know trolls will ruin this game. It's a shame really because I like the idea of kids having their own little MMO, just people on the Internet are jackasses.

Are they fully aware that a child's attention span is very limited? Hell if I know that even I have grown out of that phase. And I suspect that the trolls of all sorts will teach these children what it means.

While I find their goals admirable... I question the aftermath.

I dont think there is anything they wont to try to make an MMO these days...

All the more ways to milkl those coins from ones bank account. Good luck to seeing this work mind you with children...they like games, but, they also like to do other things too...

Anything for money these days. But 10 million to develop?

I'm sure we could have developed some kind of cure for whatever with 10 million.

reel them in while they're young!

and soon.. the gamer will inherit the Earth!

EDIT:

Am I a terrible person for giggling at the prospect of seeing a Panda character named Pedobear?

I probably will be checking this out this summer when I go home. My little bro would love it.

Does anyone here remember toys? You know, the things you played with before Nintendo took over... The things from your childhood? That old junk that's in a box at your parents' house?

Someone should reintroduce kids to toys, and also life without internet

I'm part of that last generation that will remember what it was like when you "knew someone who had the internet"

This just sounds horrible, i'm suprised people are saying this is a good idea.

They've basically just copied Club Penguin, along with all of it's psychological money grabbing tactics, and turned it into one big advertisement.

I will probably give it a shot but I'm not expecting to like it.
I cannot give it a shot as the game doesn't support "my" region (I'm assuming it doesn't support UK players as a whole)

That's bullshit. Fuck you devs of Kung Fu Panda World and goodnight.

Wasn't that phrase glorious?

"Did you hear? Such and such has the internet!"

OT: I agree with the comment about /b. Pedobear will sadly be in full force.

Thanks for the coverage, guys.

DW's marketing is pretty incredible; the servers are slammed. Sorry you couldn't get in, Tom. It's kind of insane. Cap should be increasing very soon.

@GamingAwesome1 -- UK needs special treatment. Patience, grasshopper.

@Retodon -- the KFP world is actually amazingly rich. If you have a chance, pick up the "Art Of" book. Gorgeous art and lots of background on all the development that will answer your question of "is there enough here to make an MMO". There definitely is and then some.

@scifidownbeat -- take a look before you assume. ;)

@AstorSapolsky -- glad you like it. :) PM me if you care for a friendly game of Faceoff.

And of course I'm answering here as an E regular who happened to work on the game and not on behalf of DW, or any of the other awesome devs for that matter...
