I like to mix drinks.

Sometimes I make new drinks. Most are even good!

Here are some of my drinks, care to share yours?

one part tonic
three part triple sec
one part ginger ale
top off with apple cider
pour over ice

one bottle hard cider
one bottle cheap sake

pour sake into cider bottle until full.
drink one third
complain about not being able to taste the sake. top off with sake.
drink half of that. refill with sake.
drain bottle, feel wasted, contemplate your poor life choice.

I was always jealous of people who could have mixed drinks. Unfortunately for me, my tongue is incredibly sensitive to alcohol, so no matter what I drank, all I could taste was my booze. So I generally just found whatever I could that had a high proof and went at it.

Damn you, people. Mix drinks look so good... but this is the kind of thing I drank.

Drink: PPC
-4 shots Everclear
-1 shot Peppermint Schnapps

I would not recommend it.

Here's my favorite drink recipe:

1. Take one beer.
A classic, but I'll counter with my favorite:

The Tuesday Night

1. Take 1 part Whiskey
2. Play some Mass Effect
3. Repeat steps 1&2 as needed

I will always love a good Manhattan, sadly most of the bars around where I live will fuck it up in one way or another.
3/4 oz sweet vermouth
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 dash Angostura® bitters
1 maraschino cherry
1 twist orange peel

Combine the vermouth, bourbon whiskey, and bitters with 2 - 3 ice cubes in a mixing glass. Stir gently, don't bruise the spirits and cloud the drink. Place the cherry in a chilled cocktail glass and strain the whiskey mixture over the cherry. Rub the cut edge of the orange peel over the rim of the glass and twist it over the drink to release the oils but don't drop it in.

I've also had a few snide comments about my "girly" drink (because of the glass it's served in), but those always come from some asshat drinking beer that looks like watered down piss. I'll take good whiskey over that crap anyday.

I usually only make cocktails around Christmas- I buy a shit ton of standard spirits and then go for some interesting stuff, then have wonderful cocktails until about Boxing Day, then spend a week drinking awful concoctions with the leftovers.

This website [http://www.cocktailbuilder.com/] is amazingly useful for making cocktails, especially if you have a bunch of random stuff and no clue what to make with them. I discovered the Aviation, which is four parts gin, one part lemon juice and one part cherry liqueur. It's amazing. Also, anything with creme de cassis is incredible.

There's only one drink for me.

"Three measures of Gordon, one measure of Vodka, half measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel."

Got it?

In seriousness, I'm a beer-guy, but I can usually keep up when people start getting the drinks out (and if there's Vodka in it, chaces are I'll like it).

I will add a technique as this is not so much a recipe. Simply put it is how to make Tinctures which are a lot like Vanilla extract but you can do it with literally anything. All you need is a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid something 80 proof or higher (I just use everclear because it is cheap and neutral) fill your jar with your anything, typically dried or fresh herbs or spices, fruit, or citrus peels. Now fill it with liquor. Now put the lid on tight and wait 5 days or so. Technically you are now done, you can strain it or let it sit and get stronger.

I tend to make these in the fall as I tend to like spices around this time of year, one of my favorites is filling a glass jar with Apples, Cloves, Cinamon, Juniper and allspice and just taking a small drink of club soda then adding a shot of the stuff and getting this delightful apple pie beverage. I have a bottle of what I call "Malice" which is done using Ghost Peppers and is why no one drinks my liquor.

I like Long Island Iced Tea myself:

1 part vodka
1 part gin
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part triple sec
1 splash of cola

But if you're at all interested in Mixology, I can recommend the Alchemist bar(s) as a real experience - bunsen burners, chemical flasks, and clouds of smoke with every drink.

Here's an example someone posted to youtube of one of the simpler drinks they do -

Not exactly complicated and not my recipe, but Rum and shrub (the British kind) 50/50 is a nice one, it's like a cheap DIY tawny port.

1 part Vanilla Cinnamon Bailey's Irish Creme
1 part French Vanilla Kahlua
2 parts Pinnacle Cinnamon Roll Cinnabon Vodka
A splash of milk
Stirred and garnished with a chocolate Pirouline rolled wafer biscuit

Not sure if that has a name or not, as I just combined what I had, but I like to call it "The Loopy Wuss".

Not much of a mixed drink guy these days but I just made a Halloween punch for my students that they went apeshit for.

3 parts mixed berry juice (supposed to be cran but it's a hard find 'round these here parts)
1 part apple juice
1 part grape juice
2 parts cola

Find some appropriate booze to mix in there and you got yourself a fruity cocktail. It was quite good.

See, now that is cool. Drinks and a show.

There was a bar I went to down on one of the beaches of Busan around two years ago that would do a whole show if you ordered this special round of shots. Lighting the bottles up and juggling them between like three people and the whole works. As I recall, one round of five was somewhere in the vicinity of 20 bucks which is a bit expensive in Korea but their whole routine was really intricate and well worth the price. We had a video of it, see if I can't post it somewhere.

I think I got four...Suicide
Suicide Jr.
Super Suicide Jr.
Suicide For Kids (aka The Designated Driver Suicide)Honestly, the only thing different between each of these drinks is that one can lead to black-outs, one can lead to vomits, once can lead to advance beer goggles, and one is nothing but a mixture of various sodas with maybe a hint of something non-carbonated and/or non-alcoholic in general...

I found these pretty cool eevee evolution inspired drinks. [http://www.themarysue.com/eevee-cocktails/]

They all look pretty good to me, but in this case I might just choose eevee over its evolutions.

Eevee: cake vodka, Kahlua, Bailey?s, chocolate eclair ice cream bar, chocolate syrup
The Drunken Moogle [http://www.thedrunkenmoogle.com/post/17771247406/the-eeveelution-of-shots-pokemon-shot-set] also has some pretty good video game inspired drinks.
