Drinkers and Drinking.

1 Part Stolichnaya Vodka

When you make a drink that is 2/3 of a liter, you won't have a hangover in the morning, and you will get drunk. (At least, using this formula I have never gotten a hangover.)

I love getting drunk. But I don't do it that often, so that is the only thing stopping me from being an alcoholic...

I drink because it makes me feel good and happy.
It also does loosen me up, which is great.

And it can be major fun to wake up in weird places.
One time I got drunk and my friends took me to another friends place.
They forgot that I've never been there before xD

So naturally I woke up first, on a couch, in a room I have never been in.
Looking around, having basically no clue as to where I am.
I promptly walked the FUCK out as fast as I could and called my friends, who where then laughing their asses of from the second floor.

I'm a Student. Therefore I drink, it's the law pretty much.

I like drinking, whether it's just a nice quiet few pints of Guinness or a full-blown binge drink ending in horrible food and unconsciousness at 4am.

It's a social thing, you meet people by going out, you're more relaxed, it's just good fun. Plus you can laugh at people who are wasted.

Furthermore, it's always fun remembering what happened the next morning as you and your friends gather together in your hungover state.

So yeah, drinking = good as far as I'm concerned.

Some of your funniest stories will come from being pissed. They'll have to be told to you by other people most of the time, but that just makes it funnier.

Anyway, no alcohol tastes the same, so saying it all tastes like shit is rather redundant. And since you don't drink and seem so adamantly against it, I'm guessing you haven't tried all that much to begin with.

As for alcoholism, don't start drinking large amounts by yourself and you should be fine.

Ive been drinking beer for a year now and I only found A kind I actually enjoy this weekend. Moosehead. Usually if I drink it's to get drunk. Not "for the taste". As other people have stated everything is more fun when your drunk and I've never done anything while I'm drunk that has embarrassed me or made me regret. Alcohol just improves your night

I'd guess there are differences... though I'm hardly in any position to judge. However, I've had Lithuanian & Polish vodkas though I can't for the life of me remember their tastes. All that comes to mind is the blandness that is Smirnoff... yeah... -_-

So I don't drink. I think the shit tastes terrible and all of my family are or have been alcoholics at some time excluding my sister and I so I don't like it at all. But I don't really mind if you do drink. But where I get annoyed is when some drunken fucktard is like "Man you are up-tight*hic*learn to have fun. Then promptly passes out in a bunch of rocks 10 minutes later and wakes up the next morning with a massive hangover and says it is great and you are stuck up(true story btw). So what are your thoughts Escapist.

Also I left the guy laying in the rocks and went home I'm not totally sure how he got home.

I never try to pressure people into things they don't like. I drink but I also know when to stop so I don't make an ass of myself. It also helps that I have a high tolerance and it takes a ton of liquor to get me drunk.

I had a friend of a friend who was an absolute idiot when drunk, climbing onto a roof and then expecting me to catch him for no damn good reason. Instead, I let the ground catch him, i figure he was to drunk to remember any of it anyway so no harm no foul.

I absolutely can't stand the taste of beer and much rather frequent liquor. Most of the time it usually being Grey Goose or Captain Morgan The Kraken rum.

One of my favorite drinks / shots is a mix of Grey Goose, Cpt. Morgan, Jose Cuervo, Crown Royal, and Jim Bean. None of my friends can stand it either mixed or in a shot, but for me it goes down much smoother than if I was doing separate shots of them. Almost made a couple friends puke from that

Could you guys keep the discussion quiet I'm suffering from the hilarious Sunday session I had last night.

Obviously I drink, someone above me said something about being part of student lifestyle, that's one of the reasons I drink.

The other is that it's a social glue that binds my friends together. I've got friends working, studying different disciplines and even just bludging around home, but no matter what we always make time to have a beer with each other on a frequent basis. It keeps us mates and it's always hilarious and fun.

I wonder if it will stand to a double-blind trial.. It's disturbing how much taste comes from beyond the mixture in itself, the atmosphere, price, bottle's aesthetics and colour make most of what we percieve as something's taste. Scientists have done colour tests where they put red colouring in white wine, served it to wine buffs and they all checked it off with traits that are characteristic of red wines, and also connote its colour. They've also tried sticking shit wine in an expensive bottle and vice versa, and the shit-pretending-to-be-good was consistently rated higher, and the inverse for the other wine.

I drink cider almost exclusively. I legitimately like the taste of it compared to pretty much any other alcohol.
I'm a gin connoisseur too, I also enjoy the taste of that.

It's nice to come home after a long, hot day and pour myself a glass of gin & tonic or open a bottle of cider, it's refreshing, enjoyable and relaxing, yet I can quite easily live without it. I've easily gone several months at a time without so much as picking up a bottle/glass of some alcoholic beverage, but some of my most enjoyable and, funnily enough, memorable nights have been a result of the rare times when I do get utterly smashed.

I don't tend to drink too often but a little while back I was starting to drink a little every day. I have a shitty life at work and I hate living here. xD But I got passed that I hope. I'll only drink on a special occasion or holiday.

I've only been remotely drunk but I can say that I'm a complete flirt when I have enough alcohol in me. It doesn't matter what sex you are. haha. xD But I haven't drank like that since I've been with the current boyfriend. Of course though, I just thought of the party we went to for his cousins 21st birthday last August. That was a fun night with him. <3

I've gone through phases of drinking and not drinking, trying to figure out what I like, whether I'm better off not drinking etcetera but it was all kinda stupid because, at the end of the day, I love rum! I absolutely adore rum and whiskey so I drink rum and whiskey. I don't smoke or do drugs but I love having a drink with my mates and lately I've done a lot of it (I just finished my degree, sad face)

From a female point of view: I personally enjoy drinking with friends. i would never drink by myself at home or anything. I drink when i got out with friends or to dinner with my family. i enjoy drinking to a point of happiness and being merry. very rarely do i ever go over board with my drinking, because lets face it, a woman bent over chucking up from drinking too much... very very unattractive. i guess its more acceptable for a woman not to drink than a man, so usually my mates who dont drink get picked on when we go to the pub XD but i guess its just i enjoy the buzz of being merry with my friends while drinking because people tend to relax more (of course there is a point where one should stop drinking >_>)

Meh, I don't like alcohol. I've seen what happens to other people, and I don't feel like doing that to myself. I know you can drink without getting wasted, but I'm not willing to take that risk. Besides, my sister (who has gotten too drunk to even stand) told me my family has some weird gene that makes us likely to become alcoholics.
And my mother would never forgive me.

I'm a cocktail bartender.

I don't do it because I need the money, I'm a student and only work about 20 hours a week. I've worked jobs where I got paid much more, but I genuinely enjoy booze, the stories that surround booze, the history of booze and the taste of booze. I probably drink every day of the week except 1 or 2 (and never touch booze when I'm in exam block), usually wine if I'm having a sit down dinner, with a whiskey after dinner or beer and shots when I'm working. There's nothing like a boilermaker after an 18 hour working day.

I can see how people would not like what alcohol does to them, or not like the taste, and I respect those people much more than those who don't like the taste and drink just to get wasted. Most bartenders that I know are united in this view, and hold the same amount of disdain that I have for the wastes of space that accost us when we come out of work in the wee hours of the morning.

There are no categories of liquor that I don't enjoy, with the exception of vodka which I consider to be pointless.

I drink pretty heavily, mainly vodka and beer and that's solely a taste thing, when I drink to get drunk I usually have whatever people hand me and that results in me having a splitter the next day and needing to yak. But I drink for the taste and the feeling (if you limit yourself)

The problem is people dont drink to drink anymore, they think the only reason behind drinking is to get drunk. Personally I dont drink and have no plan to start drinking, but that is what I have seen. Also, when people are younger, they drink to get drunk with friends. When they are older, they only drink to get drunk because that is what they have always done.
