So my friend got a bottle a wine to celebrate their first paycheck and suggested we come up with a few video game drinking games.

Mostly looking for co op/multiplayer games that are challenging, but still easy to do while impaired, our idea list so far is:

Magicka: If some one dies, an area gets completed, a new magicka is learned, take a drink.

Left 4 Dead: If someone dies/goes down, gets to the safe room, kills a special infected, and maybe a special rule about witches, though they still come under the special infected umbrella

Tf2: If you die, complete an objective, dominate someone, get dominated, get revenge, someone gets revenge on you, take a drink

Borderlands: someone dies, goes down (gets revived?), levels up, turns in a mission, defeat a boss, or there are Handsome Jack insults/innuendos (we're on torgue dlc which is just filled with them) take a drink

Dead Space 3: We have it but I'm not really familar with it as I've only finished the first 1 and a bit of the 2nd one, I just know it has co op, I came up with the ideas of: complete a chapter/jump scare take a drink

Assassin's Creed: Get killed/stunned if you kill a civilian, and maybe if someone else kills your contract, you score the artifact/kill the artifact theif, capture a territory in domination, take a drink

Orcs must die 2: using endless mode: take a drink when someone dies, uses a trinket (Mana regen, insta heal, unstun), and during the breaks which would only happen in the early waves, and, when one of them slips by and enters the portal at the end

Additional ideas and suggestions are welcome.

You only have a single bottle of wine? How many of you are there? If it's more than 2 people you aren't even going to get a little tipsy.

Personally my friends and I tend to play multiplayer shooters for our drinking games. Take a shot every time you go positive in a match. Originally we were trying to do this to make things interesting since as a team we would win pretty much every match we played and we figured we'd give the pub teams a fighting chance if we were drunk off our asses. Surprisingly this backfired and we found out that 2 of the people in our group of friends are WAY better gamers if they're drunk, so we actually end up stomping people even harder.

Halo is pretty fun, and Call of Duty is actually totally tolerable if you're drunk.

Left 4 Dead is a great one as well, and works well with weaker drinks (like wine or beer) if you go down you take a drink, if you use a health kit you take a drink, if you accidentally alert a horde you have to drink for the duration of the horde attack (and play with one hand), and if you make it into the saferoom you take a drink.

I don't know any video game related drinking games, but a mate and I have a version of drinking chess. Everything is measured in shot glasses. Pawns are a shot of beer; rooks and knights are wine; bishops, queens, checks and checkmates are all hard liquor(~40%/80 proof). Whenever you take your opponents piece, have the corresponding drink. There's a nice balance, as the more pieces you lose, the drunker your opponent. It also helps to keep the brain cells your not killing active.

I once played the My Immortal Drinking game.
Simply put, take a shot for every spelling or grammar mistake.
I woke up with a rubber boob (No, not implants, a single breast), fourteen cats, and a leaking green sliming coming out of my butt.

Well, there's the Dwarf Fortress drinking game:

And if you want a more historically accurate game of CK2 or EU4, just get sauced up while playing.

Take a shot whenever the words friend/friendship crop up in Kingdom Hearts.
Take two shots whenever Sora, Donald and Goofy introduce themselves in that order.
Bottoms up every time Sephiroth kicks your ass.

Beerio Kart was fun. You cannot be moving while drinking, but must have the beer done before crossing the finishing line.

I tend to drink while playing League of Legends, which I only play if a friend wants me to. Take a sip of beer everytime you die, get a kill or an assist. Not that its an official game or anything just tends to be what I do.

Eh...isn't the point of drinking games to point out when something gets down much too often, especially when it was dodgy to begin with?

Taking L4D as an example, drinking when you kill a special infected...why? What's wrong with killing special infected? Likewise, getting to the safe room is the point of each mission except the finales.

Now, each time you have to operate squeaky machinery for some reason to pass an obstacle...that gets very contrived and samey.
